Ignoring the fact that we’re worse off now than we were when the stimulus was passed, not to mention way worse off than we were the last time the GOP controlled the White House and Congress, if the stimulus had fixed the economy, the writer wouldn’t need to ask for more stimulus.

Then the deficit hawks will control both houses of congress and the White House, and they will slash spending and push the economy into another Great Depression.

What a crock! When you find yourself in a hole, the first thing you do is stop digging. Not spending money you don't have is sound policy.

(...we needed more stimulus to lower employment)

Freudian slip?
What the leftists don’t get is that Obama did EXACTLY what they recommended, with predictable results. But due to ideological blindness, instead of realizing that it’s their policies that failed, they cling to the mirage that Obama’s policies failed because they didn’t go the Keynesian way enough! If 8 Billion dollars of government spending, interest rates at close to zero, and the Fed buying Treasury bonds in the billions (with essentially more printed money), representing the biggest monetary easing probably in history (no breaks for the private sector, of course), I fail to figure out what they would consider a big enough experiment to realize that Keynesian Economics does not work and has never worked. The only stimulus that works is to the private sector, by lowering marginal income taxes on entrepreneurs, and allowing them to keep more of their money if the risks that they take come to fruition - The Milton Freedman Economics that works, as Ronald Reagan proved.

And if the economy dips back into recession-...it never got out. And I’d rather blame it in Pelosi and Reid. Look at the graphs of the price of gas, the housing meltdown, the layoffs, etc. These happened when these Shiiteheads were in carge. AHHHH,4.2% unemployment was pure hell when Bush was in charge.

C'mon. Everyone knows the recent earthquake was Bush's fault, so the hurricane must have been Bush's "depression."

(Sorry. I couldn't resist.)

I’m voting for Paul R. Nelson for the simple fact that he had the most rocking campaign theme song when he ran for Congress.

Saw this earlier today and wrote this fool a comment taking him and his faulty thinking to task. He thought he could shield himself by dumping on Obama. Didn’t work, the article is full of wrongheaded analysis, and Obama has become irrelevant as the situation has spiraled far beyond his control.

the author makes a fundmental mistake about Keynesian economic theory; it hasn’t been a one-time $787 billion stimulus, but a 2.5 year $5.1 trillion stimulus. Because in Keynesian economic theory, ANY deficit spending is stimulus.

And 30 months and $5.1 trillion later, our economy has ground to a halt - it’s pretty clear that the stimulus has killed the economy, not caused it to “grow”...

When the Socialists blame Bush for the current economic collapse, there should be only one response, “How do you know that it wasn’t Eisenhower?”

'AHHHH,4.2% unemployment was pure hell when Bush was in charge.'

Everyone benefits in a bubble. We are now paying for that 4.2 rate.

Obama’s policies drove the economy into a ditch?

But, but....... Obama said that the Republicans drove the car into the ditch. Obama said that Republicans have to ride in back because they don’t know how to drive. Obama said you have to put the car in “D” for “drive” (or Democrat), and that if you put it in “R” for “reverse” (or Republican), we will go backwards.

Can’t we believe our good Democrat president?????????

What????? How dare you question the results of Porkulus!!! You may have to go to re-education camp!!! (sarcasm)

The liberal view is that Porkulus just wasn’t big enough to work. It should have been well over a trillion dollars, according to the liberals. Evil Republicans held it down to $787 billion because the Republicans are the party of no. Or so we’ve been told.................
