A long time ago I was listening to Rush and he explained he’s not so much about programming dittoheads. That’s not how one becomes the most listened to talk radio host in a free country.
He’s so darn successful, because he simply says what so many people already believe.
The rest of the media refuses to, and that left Rush the ultimate market opportunity: just say the truth.
Palin’s in the enviable position now, Rush was when he started out. Just as the MSM would not speak the truth simply, so also RINOs won’t take a stand for anything.
Palin comes along, points out the emperor looks funny that way, and a whole lot of us out here realize that’s really important to say.
Liberals attack Rush because they think he’s programming us.
Rush is simply saying what we believe.

The transparency of it is exceeded only by how pathetic it is. Grow up, Anne... there's still plenty of attention to go around for anorexic blondes——you know, if that's your thing. BTW, are those high cheekbones, or can I actually see your skeleton through your skin?

Not really a fan of Ann either, she does have a point. Period.
Palin's merits and flaws notwithstanding, a not insignificant percentage of her fans would surround her with styrofoam Greek columns if they could. It might be an uncomfortable comparison, but it's entirely true.

There is most certainly a critical threshhold of maturity and intelligence required to discern the vast gulf of difference between unfounded fawning over an empty suit with no outstanding charachteristics or record, and the truly deserved admiration bestowed upon someone with miles and decades of stunning accomplishments who would still show up incognito to run in a marathon and not inform the press.
That level of integrity, character, moral certitude, and outstanding achievement actually deserves the highest praise and approbation, and it is not a character flaw to acknowledge that fact.
The flaw, and it is both deep and telling, belongs to those who truly cannot see the difference. By the way, Sarah finished second in her age group. Isn't that just amazing?!

I totally agree with your criticism of her fans and Alex’s wish for her to decide soon, but I think it’s a bit unfair to hold Palin’s overzealous supporters against her.
