More Republicans skipping Obama’s jobs speech

When President Obama delivers his address on a new job-creation plan to a joint session of Congress on Thursday, he won't be speaking to a sold-out crowd. Several lawmakers are still determining whether it is worth their time to stay in Washington to hear the president, and some are already planning to skip it.

Louisiana Republican Sen. David Vitter is the latest to announce that he will not be there, choosing to attend a party to watch the New Orleans Saints' opening football game instead.

"As a fanatic, I have my priorities," Vitter told Fox News on Wednesday.

Republican Rep. Paul Broun of Georgia will also skip the address but will watch it from his office across the street. During the speech, Broun will post his comments about Obama's remarks on Twitter, a tradition he keeps during State of the Union addresses.

"Dr. Broun will not be attending President Obama's joint address, but he looks forward to hearing the president's proposal for job creation," Broun spokeswoman Meredith Griffanti told The Ticket,

C'mon, more empty seats, you guys. Let's separate the men from the mice...

They can purchase any comic book at a local store and gain much more useful information than they would listening to the Cretin-in-Chief.

Harvard Law, you’ve got a lot to answer for in the upcoming investigations. You’d better throw out that quota system now....

Every one of them should skip it and instead hold a town hall with unemployed people to explain how the GOP program will put them back to work. Obama does not deserve the respect of the office of president when he uses these speeches to ridicule and lie about people in the audience.

I’ll be skipping the speech, too. I’m busy. Not sure yet on what, exactly. But yeah, I’m pretty sure I’ll be busy.

Obama's legacy:

Just words. Just speeches.

Why not skip out...

His speeches are this big anyways, why bother?

I have never once listened to or watched a single “O” speech. Why would I watch THIS one?

Forget the politicians not attending or watching Obama, the entire American population of adults and voters should boycott the Obama speech of lies and the ongoing destruction of America!!! I do not intend to watch one second of this African Muslim, son of the “Muslim Brotherhood” that stands by, silently, in agreement, while his Muslim brothers jail & murder innocent African Black Christians in LIbya and slaughter innocent Israeli settlers in Israel with attacks launched from the state of Egypt, now controlled by Obama’s Muslim Brotherhood!!! America, wake-up. Obama has put our nation in harms way!!!

A speech is not legislation. The democrats in Congress need to proffer some proposals based on ideas from their leadership. Otherwise it’s just talk.

Word is out...

everyone knows this is going to be just another campaign speech and Obama is looking to force Republicans to applaud it for his political ads.

When RINO Boehner claps for some empty Obama platitude thus signaling the GOP caucus to clap also, videos of the Republicans applauding will be used to win votes for the Democrats and hopefully win votes for conservative Tea Party primary challengers as well.

Several Republican reasons for missing Obama’s speech.

1) Cat needs waxing.
2) The waves are breaking and the Wahines are stoked.
3) FOOTBALL!
4) Those darned raccoons!
5) Note from mother.

Maybe you might want to experiment with masochism.

Vitter has been very interesting of late, and, I think someone to watch in the future. He survived his re-election bid ( because of a hooker scandal) though the senate GOP all but deserted him. He’s very conservative, and I think now he detests McConnell..and he’s pretty much guaranteed his Senate seat as long as he want s it..it is Louisiana after all..he’s already having fun..hosting an event with a TP congressman ( can’t rememebr the name who’s running in the same district as RINO Boustany.. ) LA’s losing a CD..so two Pubbies will have to face off..I think he’s goinna be an important player, a DeMInt ally, , and Mitch’s worst nightmare...

300 billion for gummint jobs — doo dah doo dah.

Everyone knows the tired tune — nothing new, nothing good, all liberal keynsian nonsense that the House will stop dead in its tracks. And the GOP damn well better make it clear that barry the zero’s attempt to toss this turd and make it their fault is a weak and pathetic attempt to once again play the blame game. And they damn well better do it loudly and frequently.

Now, ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL????!!!
