Even today, witness Hungary, I think this is an important right for the people to have. Obviously, the slave states of Eastern Europe and other parts of the world today, are afraid to trust the people with arms…Don't you think that is just as applicable in Hungary in 1961, as it was in many countries of Europe in the 18th century, when The Federalist was written?

We won’t go down the drain. At some point, the proverbial camels back will be broken and violence will ensue on a mass scale.
I’ve fought for over 26 years trying to keep that from happening by working on RKBA. Yet, our elected officials still continue on this insane path of destruction. They keep pushing on disarmament and they have no legitimate reason to do so.
The People are, at some point, going to get tired of getting lied to and pushed around and they are going to start shooting. I don’t condone it but it’s coming. Operation Fast and Furious lit the fuze on this hard and the blatant attempt at covering it up is fanning the flame on the fuze.
One of the favorite lines of the BATFE is “Constructive Intent”. This has been used to imprison many people in the past on very shaky evidence. Operation Fast and Furious is rife with constructive intent to undermine the Constitution and the Rights and will of the People.
When the shooting starts, the blame will lay before the feet of 537 elected officials and a bunch of appointed zealots. When it starts, don’t say you weren’t warned.
Just leave me out of it. I tried rescuing you from it for over two and a half decades. You laughed at me and spit in my face, on more than one occasion literally. I’m not going to stand on your behalf and try to keep you from feeling the wrath of the People. I’m just going to sit back and watch in sadness. You, our elected representation have betrayed the people you serve. You should be ashamed of what you have done, yet you proclaim proudly your bleating acceptance of treason.
Fast and Furious may be the catalyst that destroys the rule of law in our nation. After all, if the law doesn’t apply to you as you feel you can violate it at will, why in the hell do you think that Americans will accept it being applicable to them? A major can of worms has been opened by your actions. Don’t let your actions open the tanker truck of whoop-ass sitting next to it.

The nation is waking up in a cold sweat, shakes, shivers, and diarrhea due to Hopium withdrawal. The only cure is an elixir of capitalism, Conservatism, growth in businesses, and release of the stranglehold of Marxism. RINOs, poseurs, and fakers need not apply.
* There is no path to prosperity when you pay people NOT to work.
* There is no path to recovery when you punish the employer class that ultimately -and necessarily - also punishes the employee class.
* Central planning, like Czars, special unregulated commissions, and Executive Order fiat are contrary to a representative republic, but for some reason it has not become nauseating enough to puke up all those toxins and purge the system of these diseases. There can be a civil change of guard, but the Trumpkas, Waters, and Hoffas are issuing not-so-veiled threats of violence.
* In Barry's case, he has put ideology before country or party. He attempts, at every turn, to skirt the Constitution, short-circuits House and Senate processes by special "Gangs of X", creates special commissions, and uses other gamesmanship - all to erode or bypass American institutions.
US NEEDS TO WAKE UP FROM THE HOPIUM-INDUCED COMA. Patriots should slap a cold wash-cloth across your face, have a candy bar (or an MRE) and grab your gear!
Americans nor modern societies are immune from the forces of history.
Some people want to control other people. This will never change.
General access to weapons makes that a more difficult proposition.
At some point patriots really need to reach out to the LEOs to warn them against becoming involved in political prosecutions.
They will be subject to all manner of propaganda, institutional inertia, and career enhancement to play the part of “attack dog.”
They already suffer from a work culture that indoctrinates them into an ethical structure odious to all but their own coworkers.
They will need to be made to understand their choices will determine who they are.
Tell that to the gun owners who went through Hurricane Katrina. This check is needed now more than ever IMHO.

by 'sucked thru the trap', i was merely stating that the end of *rule of [manmade] law* would force said violence...
the contract [Constitution] was being broken, from the time it was penned...an exponential chipping away has brought us to this moment in history...
1961 was a long time ago in human reality...before *my* reality, as it were, but even at that point, the battle was lost for control of the levers of power...lip service today wont restore the God Given Rights to us, and the fact that duly 'elected' people 50 yrs ago didnt get a 'ride em out on a rail' or, better yet, public hanging for treason, for breaking their oaths and undermining the Constitution, thereby aiding the enemies of FReedom, and rule of law, shows us how bad it really is *today*...
ive said before, and once again, that i aint the trained and equipped guy to go on the offensive...but there are many who can and hopefully will engage our enemies, foreign and domestic, and will allow me to help in my limited capacity to secure FReedom for my children...
as you said, the fuse it burnin hot, and the answers will shortly come...but we all know that the insulated powers that wanna be arent going to go quietly from their lofty places...
sorry to ramble, but this whole situation makes me wanna puke...not unlike the 'boots on the ground' who were actually involved in this wholesale murder for votes scheme...

Unless they are enforced, they are as toothless as our beloved Constitution itself.

Quite a good question.
I think the (federal) Executive [i.e. Law Enforcement] is right out, considering that they are perpetrating massive violations themselves, from daily unwarranted searches (TSA) to unauthorized acts of war against foreign states (BATFE/DEA/FBI in Fast & Furious).
The (federal) Judicial is also right out, considering that they hold the Constitution in such low regard as to declare themselves superior to it via the defacto supreme law (and their highest legal ‘tradition’) precedence.
The (federal) Legislative is too spineless to do much, though if they had the will they could do MUCH to rectify the situation as it stands with the other two branches, as they have the power of impeachment and may apply it to even federal judges and USSC Justices.
So, then that leaves us with no federal agency with witch to appeal. Quite a quandary, but we have not yet exhausted our options there are the States themselves. Things there seem to be intriguing, almost on the border of ‘interesting’ in the Chinese sense of the word, because there is actually a lot of push on their parts against the federal government’s overreach (as evidenced in the several firearm freedom acts). Yet there is also certain similarities in the states to the federal government; a poignant case in point: Indiana’s supreme court’s repudiation of the legal right to resist unlawful police entry.
The best bet, of forcing change w/o resorting to that right and duty declared in our Declaration of Independence, is likely the Executive branch of [several of] the States.

once again Sir, i admire and appreciate your ability to organize thoughts and relationships in the *law* and those who decree and enforce it...
ultimately, there may well be a handful of states to resist...and thats a whole nother can-o-worms[whoopass]...
it will surely all fall back to the rightful authority, We The People, *if* our Creator sees fit to let this lil experiment continue...if not, itll be a loooooooooong death in ridding the countryside of the individual liberties that wont die without a fight...
i pretty much have already wept for the crap that we're gonna hafta subject our kids to one day...
