If reports are true that he is going to propose more spending to “save” jobs of teachers and other government employees, he is going down the chute again. The rest of us are tired of paying the freight for these spoiled, pampered brats.

Just a few more fun facts.
* 72% believe that the federal government has become a special interest group that looks out primarily for its own interests.
* Last night was Rick Perrys first debate in the race for the GOP nomination and he stuck by his claim that Social Security is a Ponzi scheme. Polling from last year showed that 27% of voters share that view, 36% disagree, and 37% are not sure.

Rasmussen also polled that, for the first time, a generic republican beat Obama 49% to 41%.

Yep, see if he gets a Jobs Speech Bounce.
His Bin Laden bounce didn’t last long.
His Tucson bounce didn’t last long either.
I wonder if the speech will live up to hype. Or if it will just be a laundry list of proposals, which he could have trotted out Jay Carney to do in a press briefing. After all the build-up of a presidential speech to Congress and the nation, if the result is laundry list of things we’ve heard before, this big speech could actually hurt Obama in the polls.
The intangibles of leadership seem lost on this president, and people, even liberals, have their opinions about that, beyond specific legislative proposals.

I wonder how many of them have jobs.

No way that is going to happen. Likely a negative bounce....

“Tucson bounce”
For speechifying faux-truths about someone getting shot in the head (and others killed)...and then not practicing the BS that he preached.
Only OBAMA!!!

My POMA prediction is that the bounce will be for the bounce is less than ten points for less than ten days. As he is at -22 today that means it won't even get him into the single digits and that he will be back in the negative twenties in less than two weeks.
The problem is that nothing he proposes is going to help with the strongly disapprove numbers. He may push his strongly approve from 20 to 30, but that is about it. And once it becomes obvious his proposal is DOA that will go back into the dung heap.

Ref Picture
It is always good to remember that 20% of the US population amounts to over 60 million people who fanatically support Obama. And just to give you some kind of idea how much trouble 60 million fanatics can get into Germany's entire population in 1935 when Hitler came to power only 62 million.

See my post 11. I'm betting on Friday or perhaps Monday as a result of the speech bounce. Obama has however been polling below -20 consistently for quite some time. He has in fact been over -20 only twice in the last month. The line at -22 to -23 has been a lot steadier than Rass normally reports.

The number to watch now is the SA number, which has been hovering around its historic low for quite some time. Today, the SD number has dropped a couple of points for some reason.

The New York Times gave us that wonderful image. From May 2008.
