FREMONT, Calif. (AP) - FBI agents executed search warrants on Thursday at the headquarters of California solar firm Solyndra, which received a $535 million loan from the federal government before filing for bankruptcy last week.
Agents executed multiple search warrants at the company's headquarters in Fremont as part of an investigation with the Department of Energy's Office of Inspector General, according to FBI spokesman Peter Lee. Lee said he could not provide details about the investigation.

Wonder how long this investigation will last, considering that it will lead back to massive donations to Obama the Clown and his Posse?
It shows me that once you accept stimulus money from the Feds, they own you. Watch out if you step out of line.
That was my first thought too. Nothing ever seems to come of these things, except maybe 5-10 years from now someone will get a harshly worded letter from a judge or something. After spending another million or two f’ing around for a long time.
I have a mental image of Eric Holder, scrambling madly as he attempts to shut down this investigation as soon as he possibly can.
More to the point, just how long will the DoE Inspector General stay in his job? Like most everything else in the present government, the malfeasance trail leads directly to the Oval Office.
Nothing will come of this, just as nothing was done about Fast and Furious. Obama controls the Justice Department and they are not going to investigate themselves.

That's a laugh. No way did Obama OR his fundraiser "waste" $535 million. Fact is, much of it is stashed offshore. Will be wire-transferred back in the form of "small" campaign contributions to be touted as being from "loyal" Obama supporters. Keep in mind:

The FBI should interrogate Solyndra to determine if money, jobs, and political cover was used to facilitate the deception, and whether there was collusion to misuse Executive/Congressional influence.

POSSIBLE CHARGES Official acts prohibited, misuse of Congressional funds, abuse of public office, violating oath of office, misuse of government position, abuse of government power; conflict of interest; influence buying; conspiracy to deceive; misuse of elective office. Campaign finance records filed with the FEC, and state election commission, should be scrutinized for possible violations. Determine if names of contributors are legit and whether federal grants were illegally used as campaign funds, and whether campaign contributions influenced Congressional votes.

FOR YOUR REFERENCE Did Solyndra deliberately raise more money than needed, then divert some of the excess in a series of generous donations to non-profit "green" groups that, on the surface, benefited their mutual causes? Donations to non-profits might then be illegally converted, then funneled back to campaign coffers through donations by the N/P officers and their co-conspirators, or subsets of them
These complicated transactions should draw scrutiny in legal and political circles to determine the extent to which state laws and campaign finance laws were violated in schemes that appear to launder donations to a candidate.
Campaign donations by publicly held companies might also raise questions that should be investigated re shareholders in publicly-funded corporations who may have been deceived, and whether the true destination of corporate money was concealed (SEC is interested in this).
Solyndra may also have used non-profit, ethnic, hyphenated, or faith-based groups as middlemen for campaign transactions by a pattern of Solyndra funneling money from government-run organizations to these different groups, that was laundered, then landed back in campaign accounts, in order to obscure, if not cover-up, the original source of donations to campaign coffers.
Solyndra might also have directed that campaign donations be made in the names of others without their knowledge or consent. When the financial merry-go-round stopped, non-profit, ethnic, hyphenated, and faith-based individuals---the groups Solyndra needed---end up with a lot of money, some of which was then laundered, illegally converted, then funneled back into campaign coffers.
Millions of dollars might never have been disclosed to campaign regulators, because the type of government groups used weren’t governed by federal law.
Public-spirited donors might not always have known where their tax-deductible money was headed, and don't control funds once they're donated. Money gets transferred all the time and remains disclosed only to the extent required to be disclosed by applicable state and federal law.
In another variation, Solyndra may have conspired to falsify govt applications to gain more money than was needed and then routed some of that money to supporting federal/state Dem candidates...........and colluded to engage in influence-peddling.
There might be a pattern of disguising the original source of money in an effort to hide simultaneous financial and legislative dealings with campaign contributors and/or business connections.
Clandestine meetings may have been held in order to gain access, advance political interests, and to hide the genesis of campaign funding.

Ah, c’mon guys. This is simple a face saving exercise. They are trying to show the average taxpayer they are looking to see where the 535 mil went. /s
