The weak underbelly of President Obamas economic philosophy has been apparent for quite some time now. When faced with a choice between a social agenda and economic growth, choose ObamaCare.
When given the option of unions or economic growth, sit on trade agreements and empower the National Labor Relations Board.
Espouse the need to soak the rich and attack successful corporations even if your own party blanches at raising taxes on American small business.
Let the green agenda at the Environmental Protection Agency undercut growth imperatives.
In short, make the wrong call on policy tradeoffs consistently. But when the chickens come home to roost years of substandard growth and chronic high unemployment argue that what is really needed is a jobs bill or American Jobs Act. As if economic growth was a government program.
For all these reasons, I did not expect the president's speech Thursday evening to be a policy home run. After all, the specifics nearly all of which were leaked in advance were warmed-over retreads from previous jobs speeches.

I regard Obama as a bolus.
And I’d like to pass it....
There is no bill.
But pass it anyway.
I noticed when he said the republicans didn’t want to ever tax anyone more ever the applause was the longest!
don’t bills get written in committee rooms in the HOUSE, then go to the Senate, then signed into law by the President. Did he take a course of Civics in his high school in Indonesia?
BTW, the obolus was a Greek coin put into the mouths of the dead so that they could pay Charon the ferryman who would transport them to Hades.
There seem to be layers of meaning here.
He can have his people write the bill and then have any one of his lackey Rat members of the House or Senate introduce it there.
Krauthammer called it right before the speech;
Propose something undeliverable, then blame the republicans.
So many unanswered questions ...
Where does the money come from?
How are we going to "Made In America" when all the factories and plants are shut down, deteriorating or razed?
The mini musolini just dares anyone to go against him.
BTW .. he DID apologize to America and chastise Jimmy Hoffra jr ... right?
Did anyone notice in one line of his speech he stated that he somehow belongs to the congress?
Obama is so popular that I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if those 16,000 new IRS agents get an immediate transfer to the SS/
I was at work and didn’t hear the speech. Looks like I didn’t miss much. Same old lies and promises. Glad I missed it, it saved my tv from being kicked in.
The idiot hasn’t a damn clue. He can take his welfare and shove it. People work Mr. President, They don’t sit on their ass and watch you talk bullshit. Either get on board or jump the hell off.
This guy is a colleague of DHE.
The two other words are superfluous!
Empty suit goes well with the jackasses empty head!
“In short, make the wrong call on policy tradeoffs consistently.”
Unless the goal is to put the USA into a permanent tailspin. Then he’s doing all the right things!
Remember he promised to totally transform America. This is all deliberate and planned.
What if the plan is to get 60% of the nation on welfare and get the top 3% of wage earners to pay for it all?
He is going to lose this action hard. Folks are getting to understand. He doesn’t have it.
We have to do it and do it soon. All of us us know that for us not to do it means that we will be in big trouble. Doing it is something that we all need to get together and just push ahead. And do it! There is no question that it is the thing that we have to do now! For us not to do it would be a disaster!
Note: Nobody knows what “it” is but apparently that is OK?
Evidently she is not too proud of her country any longer, now that the Hopium has worn off.
I used to think Obama had a King complex, but I have come to the realization that he is our National Drama Queen.
The guy was so over the top it was painful to watch.
The plan is to utterly crush the US system Cloward-and-Piven style, and then take advantage of the ensuing crisis to rebuild the country into his own Marxist image, imposing by force (and by “necessity!”) an economic system that the American people, under normal circumstances, would totally reject at the ballot box.
People joke that with Obama, Jimmy Carter is no longer the worst president in history. I would argue that, given the objectives outlined above, Obama, with every new dire and destructive piece of economic news, is fast becoming *the* most successful president in history. God help us.
Obama’s Speach sounded like A Tony Robbins Seminar....
“You Can Have all your Problems Solved!, Just Buy My 6 Cd
Program”!! for 400 Billion Dollars....
Seriously, I really want to know who owns the hand up Obama’s ass that’s pulling the strings and flapping the mouth.
Empty rhetoric, totally political, uninspiring. We’re all in it together and if we all don’t force each other to go along (shades of Lincoln) blah blah blah.
Embrace the socialism or it’s your fault. Every freakin job he talked about creating were union jobs, if you didn’t catch it. Cars. Bridge and road building. Teachers. Payback for his union buddies.
Obama told us that Lincoln and the government built the trans-continental railroad. I never knew that, all this time I thought the railroads built it.. Stupid me....
The obama/tax jobs plan: “Let’s get ‘em!”
With Obama-care, Pelosi said we had to pass it to find out what was in it...
With this “Bill,” it will have to be passed before it is even written.
Is that Hillary watching at home?
i am very concerned
is he smoking crack again
my god it sounds like the state of the union
a litany of temporary tax cuts and boondoggle projects
Yes, but unfortunately for us, he learned the Civics or Indonesia, which has a long history of dictatorships. Then he learned his politics from communists, terrorists, union thugs, and finally "the Chicago way" from the Daleys.
obama is a reptilian from al gore’s rib
created by bush
“He is going to lose this action hard.”
I think that when he’s pressed on jobs during the campaign, he won’t point to Bush, he’ll point to the regressive republicans and TEA partiers whose partisan refusal to go along with Obama’s reasonable and necessary Jobs Bill continue to cost Americans the well-paying jobs they deserve.
