Just pass a law that denies this refundable tax credit to illegals. Save $4.2 billion. This is a no brainer!!!!!

In a letter sent to Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner and Internal Revenue Service Commissioner Douglas Shulman dated today, Democrat Max Baucus of Montana and Republican Orrin Hatch of Utah cited an inspector general's report released Sept. 1 showing that the IRS awarded $4.2 billion in tax credits to people with taxpayer identification numbers rather than Social Security numbers.

An ITIN, or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, is a tax processing number only available for certain nonresident and resident aliens, their spouses, and dependents who cannot get a Social Security Number (SSN). It is a 9-digit number, beginning with the number "9", formatted like an SSN (NNN-NN-NNNN).

If you don’t have a SSN, the govt issues this number to you.

Businesses and corporations have a taxpayer-id instead of a SSN.

I’m not sure why an individual that was not incorporated would need a taxpayer-id.

We need to kill the ITN, require E-Verify for both employment and public benefits (welfare, etc.).

No E-Verify, no workee
No E-Verify, no freebies

At a minimum, we need to quit giving refundable tax credits, EITC, etc. to people with ITN’s.

Every business or person who pays employees and deducts taxes from their paychecks has to file a 941 form and make monthly deposits to the Fed’s and the State where they are paid. They are assigned a taxpayer id # or employer id #.

This administration seems obsessed with inventing rights for illegal non citizens to the detriment of actual American citizens.

Heck, while they are at it why don't just invent and push rights for the likes of China, Libya, Pakistan ect.

Oh, he already is. Sorry about that.

There! You see. E-verify doesn’t pick up false SS numbers. Or, real SS numbers being used by false claiments.

Timothy F. Geithner, the tax cheat, is expert only in a different area of swindling the IRS.

the reply will be, it ain’t my job to determine who is legal or not. wouldn’t it be nice if we had gov officials that said, oh my that’s not right i’ll fix it right away.
flashback, the ssa is sitting on 500 million that will not be paid out to illegal aliens but not for not trying. there is a mechanism in place for foreign workers to apply for ss upon their retirement. i think its called totalization. congress tried to get it through for illegals but we found out about it and it died. they could still pass it in the middle of the night because the agreements between the countries have already been made.

back to the irs, they do have the will to fix this, remember the prisoners getting refunds? they stopped that real quick.
