Obama TV ratings drop for joint session speech - lowest ever.

President Obama’s jobs speech represented the lowest ratings he’s received for any address to a joint session of Congress of his presidency.

The speech garnered 31.5 million viewers, according to the website TVbythenumbers, which was slightly lower than his Sept. 2009 health care speech to Congress, which drew 32.1 million viewers and is probably the fairest comparison.

But viewed against other addresses to Congress, it looks worse, and is part of a broader downward trend.

During his first speech to a joint session of Congress in February 2009, Obama drew 52.4 million viewers. His first official State of the Union Address on January 2010 drew 48 million viewers and this year’s SOTU had 42.8 million.

His highest rated speech of all time was his speech on the death of Osama bin Laden, which drew 56.5 million viewers, though it wasn’t to a joint session.

It wasn’t a speech. It was a yell fest. It sounded like a rally for union workers on strike. Not befitting a President.

Well, it was a re-run.

Yep, and my wife and I watched another rerun during the speech; Gunsmoke on the Westerns Channel. Good show though I've seen it before...

All it takes is just two viewings:

First viewing - You think he is lying.

Second viewing - Confirms your first thought.

Any additional viewing is a total waste of time that could be better spent on something more important, like picking your nose.

Or like the "Nuremburg Rally" for Paul Wellstone.

Of course. Who wants to hear him talk about enslaving us even more - to the tune of another half trillion - so he can trow away our hard earned wages at union thugs? We don't need unions, so why the heck listen to this loon?
I think there's something seriously wrong in obomas head. I don't think he's all "there."

Besides, Green Bay and New Orleans was about to kick off the 2011 NFL season. Before that was a much better pre-game show. Why would anyone in their right mind tune in to the usurper in chief when the NFL is about to commence playing for real?

Dudden surprise me. I have NEVER watched a minute of any speech he has ever given. NONE. I refuse to watch him. When he hits my TV screen, I change the channel immeidately if not sooner! There is NOTHING that comes out of his mouth I want to hear. Even if he came on to say “I quit” I would get my info on it here or somewhere else, but not from his lying mouth.

I napped and thank God for cable TV for my grandkids. I have never watched his speeches & never will.

I've been unlucky enough to get smacked with a clip of him, while surfing channels & he does YELL at people. That is the Chicago THUG style he learned!

They might have had the television on, but they were probably using the bathroom, or in the kitchen fixing snacks for the ball game.

Dinner was just about ready, and my wife had just walked in the door when I’d switched to Have Gun Will Travel. While we were finishing getting dinner on the table, Gunsmoke came on. I told her I’d channel surfed, and this was it. She said “That’s fine by me”.

Afterward she walked the dog while I sat down with a glass of wine and my eReader. About 45 minutes later I turned the TV on hoping he was off and he was. Nice way to get through a speech with your sanity intact.
