GW Bush at Flight 93 Memorial: "Evil Is Real, So Is Courage"
The best speech W has ever given in MHO.
Watch here.
You are very gracious.
So Clinton used another occasion to draw attention to his ‘humanitarian’ work. He could have quietly donated the money needed - from his and Hilary’s stash. He is such a POSeur.
Perfect metaphor.
He doesn’t know how to serve - he only knows how to consume other people’s food.
I will give credit where credit is due. Clinton’s speech started out rambling and unfocused (unusual for him), but if he gets the funds raised to complete that memorial site, more power to him.
A great speech.
I only take issue with one thing he said:
"As long as this memorial stands, (Americans) will not forget what they did here."
I would say instead,
As long as this Nation stands, Americans will not forget what they did here!
$10.7 million - That's how much bacon Clinton brought home from his speeches in 2010 alone
Clinton could sign a check for the rest of it today. A lot of these speeches are given to foreign muslims, who consider the hefty price tag a way of buying influence with a major American power broker.

I found them all very moving. Clinton and Biden are both 10 times the man that currently occupies the oval office. They both gave Bush credit for all that he did, very statesmanlike. I was so glad Zero wasn’t there to ruin the whole effect.
In the top 5 of his speeches.
For me I think the top one was at the National Cathedral three days after 9/11. The one on 9/20/01 - a PROPER reason for a JSOC - also ranks Top 5.
“Whether we bring our enemies to justice, or justice to our enemies...justice will be done.”
And I am no fan of Clinton, I protested against him many times in the nineties.
But if he can use his fundraising abilities to get this memorial completed, bully for him.

I love W.
Definitely agree. Still watch or read that a couple times a year. He really gave a lot of great speeches, contrary to conventional wisdom. His eulogy at Reagan's funeral is another one of my favorites, as is his Nov. 6, 2003 speech on the 20th anniversary of the National Endowment for Democracy.
Wow. So that is what a real leader sounds like. I had forgotten. Beautiful, humble, and inspiring. God Bless George W. Bush and Laura.
I would say instead, As long as this Nation stands, Americans will not forget what they did here!
I had a similar thought at that line, but then he closed the speech by saying: "The United States will never forget."
Either way, this administration is trying their best to
see that any memorial or Nation remains standing.
Oops
Should read..
Either way, this administration is trying their best to
see that any memorials or Nation DOES NOT REMAIN standing.
Wonderful speech, thanks for the link. THAT was a President...good to remember in times like this.
The Yahoo opening page has a picture of Clinton with a headline link featuring "Clinton's Mighty Gesture at Ceremony". His mighty gesture (not even written as sarcasm)is working with Boehner to raise money for finishing the memorial. Collecting other people's money is not a grand gesture in my book. What was ex42 doing there anyway?
The article finally mentioned GWB in the last two sentences, saying: Former President George W. Bush, Vice President Joe Biden, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar and Boehner also attended the ceremony. Bush declared in his remarks that the passengers heroism was the first counteroffensive in the war on terror.
Thank you. I had to work today so I didn’t see any of the memorial services. That gave me tears and chills. I love W and God was looking out for us when he became POTUS.
Hopefully, President Bush will not be our last Christian President.
