Thompson got in the 2008 campaign late and never recovered

Thompson never really campaigned and said he didn't have the fire in the belly to run a campaign. He was talked into running, but never wanted it.

Palin has plenty of fire - if she gets in there will be no stops.

The race does not begin or end until Sarah gets in and then it will end with Sarah taking the Oath.

I could swear that Sarah said something like “the more the merrier”.

"I think her support is very deep, but not very wide."

The opposite is true. Her opposition is very wide, but not very deep, consisting largely of people who have "bought into" the media-generated anti-Palin fabrications. IMO, that should be quite easy for her to reverse. Her "hard-core antis" are basically Obama's base.

Commomers that is funny and fits right into her I am not an elitest meme does it not? Battered and bruised by those folks not bitter, but better for the experience. The fact is that she is better for it, and Ready To Rock and Roll now. I loved the term commoner though it is so true.

The ruling class views the majority, middle class, as their personal vehicle to mandate/tax to maintain their political position. Both political parties feed off the middle class to use to maintain their status quo getting themselves reelected. Sometime I want to throw up when a politician attempts to project themselves as Ronald Reagan and then at the same time mandate or sign some NEW tax measure. This nation has reached the tipping point of enslavement to the political class and their co-mingled clients.

Sounds like Rep. Michele Bachmann is/was the “Fred Thompson” of the 2012 election. How is former Governor Palin “too late” when then former Governor Ronald Reagan didn’t declare his candidacy until November 13, 1979 for the 1980 election that he won? He beat a lousy incumbent president with both economic and foreign troubles. Deja vu all over again?

I’ve been saying for months that Bachmann is just a Sarah place holder. I just wish Bachmann wasn’t so stupid to run her campaign they way she has so that she has fallen so far, so fast. Sarah can get in right after NH - she will win SC in a landslide and it’s clear sailing from there to the White House.

Sarah has said as much and been very clear she has a great platform to run on as “The Folks Candidate Not Bought and Paid For”

"OTOH people will also crawl over broken glass to vote against her. I don’t like it but that’s what is out there."

The only people for whom that might be true are Obama's far left base, who would do the same for any Republican. By far the largest part of her "opposition" are people who have actually been "suckered" by the media anti-Palin fantasies. In a direct electoral campaign between Palin and Obama, I don't believe the media can sustain those falsehoods. The best antidote for lies is a big dose of truth.

She's already too late

Too late for what?

By the Fall of 2012, nobody is going to want to hear one more word about any of the "candidates".

Drawing this process out over eighteen months is idiotic, AND provides our guys with way, way, WAY too much media exposure.

If I could, I would amend the constitution to ban campaigning for a Presidential nomination before April 1 of the election year.

But since I can't, let me say that waiting in this absurd environment is the best strategy.

Heck, by next April, I might even decide to run.

LSM could very well be on Sarah’s side she is the better story by far. In fact Sarah has always been the story has she not?

I gave Fred $2500.00... I should have wiped my rear end with it... I would have gotten something for it. Fred never woke up to campaign... there is NO similarity in any manner between Fred and Sarah... no more than Stalin and Reagan... polar opposites. Fred is an actor... he played Conservative... he is a progressive... Sarah is the real deal... like her or not... anyone calling her anything but an American loving Patriot Conservative is a liar.

And the ruling political class both sides of the aisle are NOT going to give up their 'kingdoms' without a fight. Sarah saying 'DRILL baby DRILL' makes both sides of the establishment quake. I mean what about those mandated Texas windmill fields? Those 'green' solar businesses? All those subsidized ethanol growers. The new government controlled business model of 'code' green.

It would be interesting to find out how many elected politicians have made a pilgrimage up to the frozen tundra to pay homage to their pristine altar. I do remember old lord McCain went with Hillary and windy Graham years ago.

Those familiar with candidate:

Rudy Giuliani and Sarah Palin, who still have not ruled out entering the race, are also well-liked by Republicans (74% and 69% favorable ratings, respectively), but also do not generate the same degree of strong intense feeling as Perry and Cain. Giuliani's current Positive Intensity Score is 15 and Palin's is 13.

Perry Remains Best-Positioned Candidate

Perry's combination of high name recognition and a high Positive Intensity Score help make him the best-positioned candidate for the Republican nomination at this point, underscored by his lead in Republican nomination preferences. Cain's enthusiastic support is offset by his low name recognition, and other well-known candidates like Romney, Michele Bachmann, and Ron Paul, do not generate the same level of intense feeling as Perry.

I do NOT live by polls. The character of the candidate is what I am attempting to discover. HOW easily is the candidate willing to mandate/tax ME and my fellow citizens.

LibLieSlayer tell us how you really feel. lol Fred was an actor Sarah is a star and the real deal and the folks know it, the media and the elites know it. The Boys on the debate stage know it, and have no desire to see her in the arena. Sarah ain’t there yet and everybody knows girls/women do not fight fair and all’s fair in love and war. Sarah is planning to lead the war against Obama’s agenda and tons of other things. She will make the case sooner rather than later.
