It’s shameful to hear people who never give one moment’s thought to God on any one day of their life suddenly roll out the “where was God” thing when disasters (natural and man-made) occur. Hmmmmmmm!
Whispering in Todd Beamers ear: Lets roll!
*APPLAUSE* :)
veritas
I have done this too, but you obviously didn’t read the article.
He didn’t claim that either. You’re missing the larger picture.
From the first time I was there, on the Wednesday after 9/11, to the last time (a few months ago), the Presence of God has been palpable.
In addition, it’s struck me profoundly how enormous the damage was, and yet how incredibly limited it was. I know deep inside that this limitation of evil was owing to the Hand of God.
The author clearly claims that his special and “somewhat unique” relationship with God enabled him to immediately know the mind of God in regards to 9/11. Significantly he quotes no scripture. The reader is left to conclude that the basis of the authors entire thesis is information derived from his special relationship with God.
The Battle of Vienna took place on
11 and 12 September 1683 CE
It’s part of the world that we live in. The truth is hidden in this world and sometimes there are events that shake us up. But not everyone takes the right message from these events. If everything was so obvious then nobody would sin and there would be no real challenge over good vs evil.
And that snide remark is based on...?
New tagline ...
Where was man on 9-11? Why the continuing blame G-d for man’s actions?
For all the talk about God on this thread and FR in general, there sure is an awful lot of gratuitous nastiness here.
The author didn’t blame G-d at all. Quite the contrary. Read the whole article as it’s very uplifting.
DING DING DING! We have a winner!
“Flight 93 and the heroes on that plane...”
Evil crashes into ashes and blood lust into dust,
bravery ala Beamer who can honestly foretell?
When again asked for bow to the Devil’s moral rust,
remember a hero who once drove that Dragon straight back into Hell.
Three thousand Americans dear to you and to me,
slain as the towers in Satan’s sneak early toll.
Yet today Lady Liberty stands unbroken and free,
upheld by few brave who will answer “let’s roll!”
Sorry, I was just riffling through the headlines and saw that. I’ve read whenever some tragedy happens people are always quick to blame G-d so it just came naturally to me to jump in.
Don’t worry about it for a second. I’m guilty of only reading headlines, too. ;)
That’s an ignorant tagline, or are you being sarcastic? The church has been hated for eons. Feared? Maybe. Hated? Definitely.
Matthew 10:22
22And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. (KJV)
I’ll have to learn to read first then comment ... :)
Naaaaaa.... takes too much time. Ha!
;)
