I found it interesting, that after about the 20th time of repeating “innocent 11-12 year-old little girls” (in the Tampa CNN-Tea Party debate, CNN post-debate, Fox News post-debate), when asked by Greta VanSusteren if she believed Gov. Perry used an Executive Order for the cervical cancer vaccine to get $6000.00 or because he believed it was a good idea and would help fight the spread of this cancer, Michele Bachmann actually stopped talking for a couple of nanoseconds, paused and said that she couldn’t look into his heart and know that answer.

The answer is obvious to any honest person, that Gov. Perry did it to help fight cancer and hold down future medical costs (not make money, reward a company (Merck contributes $Millions to political groups yearly) - encourage girls to become sexually active or even suggest that they do). The best time to administer the HPV vaccine is when girls are young (they can contract this cancer from their husbands – get oral cancer – thank you Bill Clinton for your part in making America's youth think oral sex isn't sex).

About deaths from vaccines – over 400 people die yearly in the U.S. alone from penicillin allergies. All medicine carries risks -- have you watched an Rx commercial disclaimer lately?

And it was opt out. The governor’s EO allowed easier payment due to insurance restrictions. And it was not opposed by Dr. David Stevens, CEO of the Christian Medical Association.

Why CMA supported Perry's HPV vaccination order

There are a whole lot of of people....and I mean, enough that it really stuns me....who have come to believe that children they know who suffer from autism, seizures, weird allergies, etc....all is connected to government-mandated vaccines.

Michele has tapped a large hidden reservoir of votes with this.

My wife works with a specialist in communicable disease. He is known around the world for his work. He is a good, reasonable guy.

He told us that the vaccine was good and that we should get it. He said the claims that are coming up are extremely rare, and some seem to be without foundation.

Our kids are older now, and they are out of our home. I do not know if they are sexually active. I know when I was their age, I was. I am glad they got the vaccine.

I do not agree with Perry’s position it this. Michelle made some good points last night.

And now she goes back to sounding like an uniformed idiot. She took her message off the point: The issue was not the vaccine, it was the process of mandating it.

Whatever gains she made last night, get swiped away with a typical politician tactic of “I met somebody.....”

Herman Cain looks better every day.

Bachmann's out for me. Demagoguing this and saying people "didn't have a choice" is just a lie.

And the mental retardation comment is shameful.

If you really think that $6000 in campaign contributions is the only way Merck could help Slick Rick Perry, then you are hopelessly naive. Some of us are sick and tired of your constant attempt to sell this man, a career hack politician who supported liberals like Al Gore and Rudy Giuliani, a man who claims credit for job growth despite never running a business himself, a man who hasn’t a clue about foreign policy, a man who panders to La Raza and CAIR, as a conservative.

Oh. And Cincinnatus is spelled with 3 Ns.

I think it would be interesting to see if anyone knows someone who had a negative outcome from this vaccine. I don’t think the gov or the drug company would necessarily do everything to get this info out there.

I know a 22 year old girl who was healthy as a horse who within 2 weeks of this vaccination is basically a quad for the last several years.

Anyone else know anyone?

I opted out of the vaccine for my daughters but I do have a story that is somewhat in support of the vaccine. We have a history of urinary reflux in my family and 2 of my daughters had it. When I took one of my daughters for a nuclear cystogram the nurse asked me a few health questions. One of them was “was she sexually active?” When I looked at her, horrified, she said, “I know but I have to ask. You’d be surprised how many girls say yes.”

My daughter was 10 years old.

Perry admitted it was a mistake to sign the order and it never became law because the legislators shot it down.

If this is the best Bachmann can come up with then she's done.

Bachmann has truly jumped the shark.

There is no way on earth a teenager gets ‘retarded’ from a vaccine. If she bought that nonsense, she’s not POTUS qualified.

This anti-vaccine BS is nutter territory.

Put ‘em in the crazy aunt attic with Ron Paul and the 911 truthers.

Kaye Bailey tried this on Perry when she ran against him for governor.

It doesn’t fly. It may crawl a few paces but that’s it.

And there are so many lies involved about donations and about the effects of the vaccine that it weakens any argument.

Plus Michele showed herself to be hysterical and ridiculous.

If Perry wanted to make those inoculations more accessible, he could have crafted an opt-in system rather than forcing parents to opt out.

That sounds great from Rick Santorum & Ed Morrissey except opt-in isn't covered by insurance, medicaid or other programs meaning accessibility wouldn't be improved at all. It's symbolism over substance.

An empty debating society point fails in the real world where governors and presidents live.

I’m afraid it sounds to me like the one person afflicted with mental retardation as a result of Gov. Perry’s unfortunate Gardasil mandate is Congresswoman Bachmann.

She just jumped the shark. A mandate that young girls be given a vaccine against a disease for which the main (though not only*) means of transmission is sexual activity was a boneheaded move on Perry’s part given the likely interpretation among young people as state support for sexual activity, but attacks on it should be based on the moral impact or actual, solidly-supported scientific evidence, not bogus-sounding anecdotal “evidence”.

*5% of cases of HPV of the strains causing cervical cancer are provably by non-sexual transmission, even under the classification protocol that assumes any case in a sexually active patient was sexually trasmitted, and there is at least one documented case of transmission by sharing clothing.

Sorry, folks, but Michelle came off as a d*mn LAWYER last night. She did everything but come out with an ad to sue Perry for malpractice! (With her on contingency, of course.)

She went down quite a bit in my estimation. Reminded me of John Edwards, for pity's sake!

Here's hoping she drops out...

Like I’ve said all along. Bachmann can’t get elected. And after doing some more research into her and her church, I wouldn’t want her to. It’s almost like she’s secretly a KKK Klanswoman- she hates Catholics and views their church as evil and led by the antichrist (http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/religion/michele-bachmanns-former-church-explains-popeanti-christ-claims/2011/07/15/gIQAzMG7FI_story.html). The last thing we need is someone so hateful in the presidency who now is apparently also advocating ovarian cancer for her own personal gain.

>>>”There’s a woman who came up crying to me tonight after the debate. She said her daughter was given that vaccine. She told me her daughter suffered mental retardation as a result of that vaccine.”<<<

Bachmann was just repeating what the woman told her.

But SOMETHING happened to that woman’s daughter, right after the vaccine, probably something that mimicked mental retardation.
