Like most lawyers, she's prone to exaggeration. There are still lots of jobs out there for people who want to work. Granted most are not great jobs and most don't pay very well. Now being a waitress doesn't pay $50/hr or even $20/hr in most places. So she's taken a job which will give her more income than what the average person still makes, at least at the $50 an hour rate. So I'll wager she's taking the easy way out.

BTW, I've got a lot more respect for the average topless dancer than the average lawyer.
