Posted on 09/14/2011 12:16:05 AM PDT by JohnHuang2
With the outcome of his own reelection effort 14 difficult months away, President Obama suffered a sharp rebuke Tuesday when voters in New York elected a conservative Republican to represent a Democratic district that has not been in GOP hands since the 1920s.
Bob Turner, the winner, cast the election as a referendum on Obamas stewardship of the economy and, in the states Ninth Congressional District, which has a large population of Orthodox Jewish voters, the presidents position on Israel.

Better to be magnanimous, stay above the fray, which is why I won't even mention the fact that Republican Bob Turner won in a district that elected Chuck Schumer, Geraldine Ferraro and Anthony Weiner.
Nor will you hear a peep out of me about the fact that Democrats were claiming this wasn't a "safe" seat anyway because a Republican held it as recently as 88 years ago. Sensing defeat, most Democrats fell back on their old habit of blaming the Jews.
This is a district that Obama won with 55 percent of the vote, a district in which Gore got 67 percent. This district is so heavily Democrat, it voted for John Kerry. In another plus for Democrats, the deceased are allowed to vote. But, like I said, nary a word about any of this from me.
Also, my lips are sealed -- tightly sealed -- about the fact that Turner, a political novice, won against a veteran Democrat politician, David Weprin, whose family is legendary in this district. Weprin got the backing of the entire Democrat establishment, and he still lost -- but will I even mention it? No.
Weprin tried to paint Turner as a hostage-taking Tea Partier who wants to destroy Medicare and Social Security and murder granny. It's part of the Democrats' winning strategy of appealing to moderates by portraying opponents as monstrous killers.
Also sensing defeat, the media hysterically tried to write off a loss here for Democrats as just a special case -- a district in which Obama is as popular as gonorrhea. But. A Siena poll released last Friday pegged Obama's approval rate in the district at 43 percent, which is about where Gallup pegs him nationally.
As for NV-2, more good news (which I refuse to mention). Republican Mark Amodei absolutely CRUSHED Kate Marshall. Will I mention that Marshall is state treasurer? And that this is Harry Reid's home state? No.
Democrats had high hopes here because Marshall is state treasurer and a late-August poll put Amodei ahead by only one percentage point, which I won't mention either since I'm not gloating. Nor am I going to point out that Marshall tried to paint Amodei as a hostage-taking Tea Partier who wants to destroy Medicare and Social Security and murder granny. (This positive message seems to resonate so well.)
Like Weprin, Marhshall got the backing of the entire Democrat establishment, with Harry Reid and Bill Clinton pushing for her, but I said I wouldn't gloat so I won't mention that either.
Oh, one more thing. Congratulations Bob Turner and Mark Amodei! Nice job trouncing the Democrats, heh, heh, heh! Oops ... wasn't gloating -- honest!
My Two Cents...
Wednesday-morning ping! God bless and have a nice day!
Liberal heads exploding. Would like to hear Ed Schultz and that lesbian fellow also on MSNBC this morning.
I am so delighted my prediction was wrong.
Anthony Wiener resigned? When did that happen and what are these photos the writer speaks of?
Ahhhhhh..... Did the dems get their nuts handed to them again?
Same here! I might have to tune back in to “Morning Joe” this morning for a change! Nothing better than schadenfreude for breakfast!
It’s not easy for lifelong Democrats to vote against the party. It’s like a Met fan routing for the Yankees in a subway series (no implicit bias of course).
Good one, ROTFLMAO.
Now this is CHANGE I CAN BELIEVE IN! LOL
This is great news & almost makes the whole disgusting Weiner episode a blessing in disguise. One would hope that more disgraced politicians could be as easily replaced with those with a bit more integrity. Therefore perhaps it is the end of the world.
The “tingle” up Chrissy Mathews leg is turning to a throb.
Still/always a chance of missing ballots in trunks etc.
Me too. I thought for sure that the Dems would find a way to steal it. But, I guess this is one case where the Dem trump card of election fraud just plain wouldn’t work.
From what I hear, the election machinery in that district is pretty much run by the Jewish voters, and they were not going to put up with any shenanigans when they were sending a message.
Hopefully it will be the first of many such messages sent to Obama and the Dems.
Nor will you hear a peep out of me about the fact that Democrats were claiming this wasn't a "safe" seat anyway because a Republican held it as recently as 88 years ago.
Wow! Quite a win and pickup! Thanks for the post John.
The Democrats hate Obama so much that even the dead are voting Republican!
The tingle up Chrissy Mathews leg is turning to a throb.
Actually, the "tingle" running up Chrissy Matthews' leg has turned into a "tinkle" running down his leg ... but in keeping with the spirit of this thread, I won't mention that either.
Does this mean Scooter is going to double down on his “Save My Job” jobs plan? The most delicious part about all of this is that the Dems are stuck with this loser. Watch for the False Flag event, though. He doesn’t have much else, if anything, left in his tool bag.
Great post. Thanks.
Great News! Enjoy the NY-9 win while it lasts for the next 14 months. I’ve heard this district was going to be gerrymandered out because NY lost some House seats in the census.
Nuts? I think you are being awfully generous. But whatever they had they have been cracked and thrown back in their face!

You forgot to say that you shouldn’t mention the fact that the Democrats pour hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of hate ads in the last days to try to hold on to the seat. We should try to be civil after all. ;O)
Yup. They can't primary him because the blacks et al would burn the place down.
The only hope they have of getting rid of him and keeping their hands clean is if he pulls a Lyndon B. and resigns or if they take him out the back door - perhaps by exploiting one of the brewing scandals (Solyndra, Gun Runner etc.)
Otherwise, as you point out, they're stuck with him.
I’m already on my first chu-hi to celebrate, and headed to roppongi to engage in capitalism with my business partners. Ronin and I are two more Tokyo happy campers today. Well done Mr. Turner.
The media wasn’t able to pull this out! Ding, dong, the witch is dead!
Today NY tomorrow MD.
I’m overwhelmed with the modesty, decorum, and self control on display with these comments!
Porky’s - Laughing scene.
Careful; those chu-hi’s creep up on ya, especially the green tea ones. And stay away from the Hoppy Beer. Those two don’t mix! O-dai-ji-ni (get well soon). Hope you don’t have to work tomorrow.
NY-9 looked pretty well gerrymandered already to me. They may just carve it up and throw Turner in with one of his Congressional "neighbors".
He’ll never pull an LBJ; his malignant narcissism won’t allow for it. The only way he’s going before his term is up is if a “medical” reason crops up between now and 06 November 2012. Solyndra and Operation Fast and Furious (among others, without getting into the unfortunately radioactive “birther” angle) won’t gain enough traction quickly enough to bring his pResidency down either, IMO. At least not in a manner that results in his leaving office before his term expires. More’s the pity.
Just damn, we must be the ones we have been waiting for.
For anyone who has been living in a cave, a search on FR using the keyword "Weiner" will help you relive the sordid history of a Democrat degenerate. But I repeat myself.
I’m glad you didn’t gloat.
From this moment, the sea level will stop rising, the earth will begin to heal...
We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. Wait... what?
JohnHuang2 — it’s good to see you back in fine form. Nothing can be added to your fine essay which has put a smile on my face this morning! Thank you.
Hey John Nice to Hear from you again, where have you been?
LOL. You are right. It was downright frightening to see how many people, even some smart ones, were just mesmerized by this character based on his youth, race, and ability to give a speech. (Which is way overrated IMO.) No one wanted to face facts. When we tried to warn people we were dismissed as crackpots.
“The most delicious part about all of this is that the Dems are stuck with this loser.”
Apparently the Dem candidates that will be “down-ticket” from him next year don’t want to hear that; they’re not taking the likely end of their political careers too lightly (and after the 2010 shellacking have no misconceptions that it will likely happen to them). Dem candidates would have to so strongly renounce him & his programs that it will guarantee his loss, while only aiding them slightly.
I said it over a year ago, and I stand by my prediction: Obama will not be the 2012 Democrat presidential candidate. The other candidates, as well as the big donors, have too much to lose. The fact that the media is now openly against him (though not what he stands for) would indicate that he is facing mounting pressure.
And I for one, will put on my civil defense helmet and voluntarily assist to patrol the no gloating zone. Anyone caught gloating will be smiled at.
Guess my brother in law will be in a pissed mood today snicker snicker.
Thanks for all the great info!!! WOO HOO!!!
