One could almost hear the collective gasps of Democrats from New York to Washington Tuesday night, as conservative Republican Bob Turner won the nationally-watched special election for the seat of former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D.-NY). In a New York City district (Brooklyn-Queens) in which registered Democrats outnumber Republicans by 3-to-1 and which has not had a Republican House Member since 1922, the 70-year-old retired television executive defeated State Assemblyman and Democratic nominee David Weprin by a margin of 50% to 47%, with the remaining 3% going to Christopher Hoeppner of the Socialist Workers Party.

Speaking to HUMAN EVENTS a few hours before the voting booths closed in New York’s 9th District, Turner predicted the national tremors that would be generated if he emerged triumphant. As he told us, “If [Weprin] loses tonight, it will reflect poorly on the national Democratic Administration.”

“In making clear his disagreement with Turner on social issues and many spending issues, Koch specifically said his election would send a message of protest to the Obama Administration over its support for a Palestinian State and Israel returning to its pre-1967 borders.”

Amen!

...Among other issues as well, Weprin. Your boy isn`t getting off that easily.

This is wrong! The final talley was 54%-46%, with the third candidate at 0%. Whosoever wrote this article is delucional!

Hey David Gergen, looks like Americans aren’t nearly as “horrified” by the Tea Party as you thought. In fact, considering that a district full of Democrats just elected a Republican for the first time since 1922, it looks like they’re much more concerned about the socialist in chief. I’ll bet you’re relieved to know you were wrong.

Without the Jewish vote, Turner would have lost. Obama’s anti-Semitism cost him a NYC Congressional district, an unthinkable event just a year ago.

Weprin may not have conceded yet, last night he was saying that "all the votes are not in."

In other words there was still a chance to stuff ballot boxes.

You can probably add 2% to Turner's total.

My sister lives in that district, which was carved up to include as many whites as possible. Her City Counsel district used to consistently elect Serph Maltese, who ran on the Conservative Party line, so there is a pretty big residual “Archie Bunker” vote in parts of that district.

They triumphantly proclaimed Capitalism dead — and that’s okay and expected, but then they believed their own lies and acted like it was dead. — ME.

As the very deep hole that Obama has dug for himself and the Democrats fills with water, I can’t help but have this delightful sense of schadenfreude — That’s the feeling you get when somebody say’s “Hey, watch this” and then proceeds to hurt themselves doing something incredibly dumb.

The best part is after watching how Obama has reacted in the past, he’s going to just keep on digging.

I can just hear it the talking heads spin now...’well, it isn’t an important seat anyhow, it’s going to be eliminated soon because of redistricting’.

In truth, the entire democrat party has officially been put on a suicide watch.

That’s funny.

Because Ed Henry of FOX News (just yesterday) was saying something like “Democrat insiders are telling me that if the election were held today, Nancy Pelosi would become Speaker again because America is blaming the economy on Republicans.”

LOL!! These people are living in denial.
