These guys are from one of the more conservative orders, the Swartzentruber Amish. They often wear blue rather than black and in matters of theology, appearance/dress, and acceptance of technology make the mainstream Old Orders in Lancaster County look like leftists.

That is just a great classic look that never goes out of style. But why does #2 not have the flippy side thing going? His mother is the local Tupperware sales rep and he is used for the demo to show how helpful the bowls are for haircuts.

The reason they don’t wear mustaches relates to the fact that 19th century Prussian military men wore huge bushy mustaches. As they were strict pacifists, Amish refused to grow mustaches, in order to deliberately look non-military.
