Posted on 09/15/2011 4:16:00 PM PDT by Beaten Valve
Fresh off Sunday nights taser-fueled fan violence at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey, the NFL will conduct pat downs from the ankles up this season.
In the past, the pat downs went from the waist up.
The enhanced security procedures recommended by our office before the start of the season will further increase the safety of fans but will require some additional time, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told USA T0day in a statement Thursday. We encourage fans to come early, enjoy their tailgating tradition, and be patient as they enter the stadium.

They need more fake jobs for Eric Holder’s people where they get to stick it to people who are not Eric Holder’s people.
It never ends.
The only Pat down I would like to see is Tom Brady with a broken leg. Go Steelers!
These people are freakin crazy. What can one person do in a stadium anyway. The guy next to you might taze ur a$$.
before you know it...even the Tea Party will not be able to convene without the TSA’s involvment....
It's about control.
Next they'll be in the shopping malls and strip centers.
One of these days you'll pass through a body-scanner to go to the hardware store.
How pathetic is that? If the only way your team can win is if the competition is incapacitated, your team does not deserve to win.
Be sure to thank the many fans of NY teams for achieving new lows - again - and inconveniencing the rest of the nation.
It will never end. Not until every last jihadist is exterminated. ...which, short of divine intervention, won’t be happening.
Eventually, it’ll be a nationwide curfew, random stop and frisks for EVERYBODY, etc. Welcome to the world of V For Vendetta.

We were able to buy beer into the fourth quarter at Giants games until the idiot Jets fans started fights and fires in the stands one night.
One more reason to stay home.
I know, I know, "When they came for the NFL fans, I did not say anything because I am not an NFL fan. When they came for the NBA fans, I said nothing because I am not a thug. When they came for the show tunes fans, I said nothing because I am not gay, yada, yada, yada..."
Just as long as I don't have to go through one on the way out
GO PATS!!! : )
GO PATS!!! : )
Conditioning/desensitization for Vampire-Care, with fees or fines.
I’m going to wear silk boxers to the next game...
What's an "ur"? Or was it supposed to read "tazeur" (whatever that is)?
I’m a Pats fan, and I can honestly say I would never wish for injury on another player like that. My heart breaks for Peyton Manning, and I find being a football fan more exciting when there is real competition on the field. If my team can only win because there is no one with any talent to play against, where is the fun in that? Your attitude is contrary to what sportsmanship is about, IMO. Sorry, that’s just how I see it.
short for your
Jesus Christ guys. I was going more for the pun “Pat down” than anything. Don’t take yourselves so seriously!
Actually, New York fans have become much more subdued and civilized over the years. Jets fans can still be pretty unruly, but even then that’s a dramatic improvement over what they used to be like. One of the things driving this is that tickets for almost all of the New York sports teams have become prohibitively expensive in recent years — which tends to filter out a lot of the undesireable types.
Welcome to English of 21st century.
If you want to one up Nappy just start a campaign to not attend any NFL games this year. If it had a big enough impact on ticket sales the NFL would quietly get rid of this.
Billions and billions of dollars from sports that they want to kill too? Can you imagine?
Ugh! Keep it up and we won’t be able to shop at our grocery without a friendly grope from the local “authorities”.
If you text, u mk it shrt!:)
My guess is that they would rather have you drinking their $10 drinks versus sneaking your own supply in...
I have never been to an NFL game. I will not ever go to one now.
About four years ago, I had just bought a new Gerber multi tool. I always wear one and is part of my normal dress. I went to a Titans game and after parking far outside LP field and walking over a mile, I was not allowed in with my multi tool. I was told I could throw it away or take it back to my car. I ended up hiding it nearby. The gate Nazi realized I could not possibly have returned that quickly and did a very thorough search. That was the last NFL game I will ever attend.
Good plan. The last time I went to an NFL game, the tickets cost $4. And I had season tickets. $28 for 6 season games plus one pre-season exhibition. I don't miss it at all.
OMG. R U serious?
ur sitting here using a computer - and ur that computer illiterate?
And I'm, not, by the way, a young whippersnapper. I'm a great granny, so age has nothing to do with keeping up. (And WTF does not stand for Win the Future ;o)...)
Our Police State continues to expand. The question is will this put a number of fans off from attending?
$4 for a game? LOL! Was that before or just after the Packers won their first Super Bowl?
.....because drunkenness, rivalries, and auto accidents never happen while tailgating in the parking lot.
Just before. The SB didn't exist yet. It was in the early 60s. I was in high school. I lived in Cleveland then and had a chance to go to the NFL championship in 1964 but they wanted $35 for the ticket for my season seat so I stayed home. It was blacked-out on TV but just as the game started, the signal from a Canadian station brought the game in very clearly. When the game ended, we lost the picture.
Cleveland beat Johnny Unitas and the Colts 27-0. Quarterback was Frank Ryan, fullback Jim Brown, receivers Gary Collins and Paul Warfield. Collins caught three TD passes and Lou Groza kicked two field goals.
That was the last year I ever bought a ticket to a pro football game. I saw one game since because my BIL was given some tickets. I went out on a high note. I have been to two MLB games since then and no NBA games.
Nice sentiment there, Spin. I hope Brady puts 600yds on the Squealers. Your ownership are 0bummer ballwashers and your QB a rapist. Nice team. Go Squealers... straight to Hell.
Pretty cool. You’ve either got a great memory or you looked it up. LOL!
Paul Warfield? Who’d he play for later, the Dolphins?
No, I remembered all those details correctly (but I DID check them just to be sure). I was a 16-year-old sports fanatic kid who lived through a very tense season and went to all the home games. A lot of the details, especially the championship game were seared, I tell you, seared into my memory. No one thought the Browns would shut down Unitas and the Colts.
One game that sticks in my head is a 33-33 tie with the St. Louis Cardinals. No overtime back then. We ended the year edging the Cardinals out for first place.
Warfield did play for the Dolphins and did great with them.
I remember Johnny Unitas. He played in hightop cleats, didn’t he? The Colts were a powerhouse. I have no recollection of the Browns doing so well then, but I wasn’t paying a lot of attention to the NFL then.
Ur of the Chaldeans was a city in Mesopotamia (modern Iraq). So he’s worried about “tazing” Iraqi donkeys.
