McGinniss ‘too busy’ for Fox? [McGinniss and Roger Ailes friends for 44 years]
Politico ^ | Sept. 15, 2011

Posted on 09/15/2011 5:06:35 PM PDT by Al B.

Erik Wemple reports that Fox News says it tried to book Joe McGinniss to talk about “The Rogue,” but he said he was “too busy.”

That’s an interesting decision, given that McGinniss has been friends with Roger Ailes for 44 years.

McGinniss wrote in May about their friendship, which started when he was writing a column and the Philadelphia Inquirer and Ailes was producing the Michael Douglas Show in Philadelphia.

The post was sparked by Gabriel Sherman’s story on Ailes, which quoted an anonymous associate of the Fox News boss saying that he thought Sarah Palin was “an idiot” – a claim that drew ferocious pushback at the time, but which McGinniss said he believes.

Note the true affection in McGinniss’s writing about Ailes:

But the one quality Roger possesses that I admire above all others–and it is undoubtedly the one least known and appreciated by those who deal with him only professionally–is his generosity of spirit. Roger will do anything for a friend. My respect for his privacy prevents me from getting into detail, but I know this first-hand. Maybe someday, when he’s retired, he’ll let me tell people about his extraordinary loyalty, unselfishness and generosity.
Roger and I are in frequent contact by email, we talk by phone at least monthly, and we get together for lunch or dinner at least a couple of times a year. We talk far more about family than politics. I gave up trying to convert him years ago, and he’s known from my Philadelphia newspaper days that I was beyond redemption from his point of view.
When we do talk politics, it’s always off the record. Because Roger knows I’ll never violate a confidence, he has no qualms about telling me exactly what he thinks of the various high-profile political and media people with whom he deals. So I can’t, for example, tell you what Roger really thinks of Sarah Palin.

UPDATE: McGinniss responds: "Roger one of my closest friends over many years, but Crown publicity has me already booked for next week. Maybe later."

Ailes has not wanted Sarah to run and the orders to trash her and snub her have had to come from him.

Right. Because Ailes is so stupid that having a washed-up politician on contract is so good for ratings. You know, I occasionally start to think that the liberal media's influence is waning, but then I read a piece of crap like this and see conservatives falling for it.

And I have to admit that its influence is just as big as ever.

Well Sarah has her reason now to terminate her contract w/Fox.

I say do it.

He’s afraid he’s going to run into the subject, or the subject’s husband, or both, in the halls.

Wow it sure is getting crowded under the Sarah bus. Especially considering how the bus isn’t even going anywhere.

mmmmmmmmmmmm, FOX , mmmmmmmmmmm

the last straw for me was this week when I saw Megyn Kelly tell the shrink that he was a hater because he said letting kids kids watch chaz bono pretending to be a man is not good for them.

she went off the deep end and that was it for me. She and FOX have finally put the last nail in the coffin except friends in the morning and that is very brief.

The book is chock full of lies, so why do people believe this one aspect?

CONNECTING THE DOTS

Fox News chief Roger Ailes ----> Chris Wallace RomneyBOT

Fox News chief Roger Ailes ----> Hyper-biased FOX NEWS ProRomney Panel on Sundays

Fox News chief Roger Ailes ----> McGinniss has been friends with Roger Ailes for 44 years

Conclusion: SMELLS LIKE MITT AGAIN

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

Poor sport spoiler Romney doing what he does best:

Novak: "Fred Thompson drop-out rumors traced to Romney campaign"

Said Novak: "The rumors were traced in part to Mitt Romney's campaign,
trying to stir up strife between McCain and Thompson
."

"Despite outspending his rivals by huge margins throughout the primaries,
(Mitt Romney, Carpetbagger UT,CA,MA,NH,Mexico) lost Iowa, South Carolina, Florida and California.
The only primaries he won were in Michigan, where Dad was governor; LDS states;
and a few states on Super Tuesday in which his California-obsessed rivals
couldn't spare the cash to advertise.
Only John Connolly in 1968 had a worse cash-to-delegates ratio.
And John McCain rightly did not like Romney's tactics during the primaries.
(W)hen (Romney's early leads) started slipping away, he resorted to unfair,
distorted, scorched-earth negative ads, betting that his opponents couldn't
afford to spend enough for the truth to catch up to his charges."

Since Murdoch’s done business with Bertelsmann, some joint venture in Asia, IIRC, McGinniss ducking FNC is certainly interesting...

FWIW, smells like Bertelsmann to me. I don’t give Romney that much credit.

Wow I had no idea she did that. I had such respect for her. But that is some messed up stuff, letting little kids in on this gender reassignment thing. I had no idea what homosexual was until I was in the 9th grade and that was only because of the show “Soap” otherwise I might have gone to my senior year in ignorance of folks who were attempting to mate two male ends.
