Selfish Tea Party crosses line [barf alert]
The State News ^ | 9/15/2011 | Lazarus Jackson

During Monday’s Republican presidential debate, CNN moderator Wolf Blitzer posed an interesting scenario to the candidates: If a perfectly healthy young individual without health insurance gets in an accident, who should help pay for his medical care?

The candidate’s answers didn’t matter to me, I was too busy listening to the audience’s reaction to the hypothetical death of another human being.

They cheered.

For the death of another human being through no fault of his own, the Tea Party crowd cheered.

Two people yell sarcastically in response to an obnoxious loaded question and this college student makes broad generalizations. Big surprise.

Dear Lazarus - you keep forcing people to pay for the choices of others (choosing not to have insurance), instead of allowing people to freely give to charities to help people, and you’re going to get some pushback.

Say, Lazarus, show us some receipts where you’ve paid for a stranger’s healthcare or health insurance out of your own pocket, voluntarily, then we’ll give an ear to your emotion laden hatred of people who want to live in freedom.

Until then, STHU.

through no fault of his own,

I can't believe he actually wrote this phrase. If you don't save for a rainy day, and then it rains, what happens?

In the debate, I wish someone had responded with: "The young man should hope that he is part of a very supportive and generous family, or church."

“In the debate, I wish someone had responded with: “The young man should hope that he is part of a very supportive and generous family, or church.””

But they don’t believe in families and belonging to churches. They want to go from one girl to the next and have no religion. Of course, this means only the govt can be their last resort which is why....
social and fiscal conservatism go hand in hand!

He made the choice. Bad choices have consequences. Let him become a charity case.

Young Laz wasn't even really paying attention ... the question was about someone "injured", not "killed".

The correct answer depends on whether are not it was one of Perry's illegals. If it is an illegal you the tax payer picks up the bill, no questions ask, if it is joe citizen, the question is where is your damn insurance and the debt collectors will hound you to the grave.

If he wasn’t an illegal, then he should have auto insurance. As long as BOTH drivers have liability insurance, medical benefits will cover up to the maximum for the treatment
