WASHINGTON -Doubling down on his economic agenda, President Barack Obama on Saturday kept up his appeal for public support of his $447 billion proposal to boost jobs and consumer spending, calling on Americans to press Congress to pass the legislation.
In his weekly radio and Internet address, Obama reiterated a message that has become a central focus of his presidency amid stubbornly high unemployment numbers and dipping approval over his handling of the economy.
The president announced his jobs legislation to a joint session of Congress last week and has since gone outside Washington to build a case for its passage.
"The No. 1 issue for the people I meet is how we can get back to a place where we're creating good, middle-class jobs that pay well and offer some security," he said.

YEP....this is ONE of THOSE battles in this WAR....
Obama: Pass jobs bill without ‘division or delay’= The madness of King George!
What is the president’s strategy here?
He has to know that its going nowhere fast, and probably won’t make it to a vote in House.
Yet, his shrill advocacy of a DOA bill continues as if it the thing could ever possibly pass in this Congress.
Problem is that no one on either side of the isle, is rushing to write or co-sponsor a bill...hmmm...
This might prove to be quite embarrassing to the obummer.
Has he even found a Dem to introduce HIS bill in the House yet?
If not, that would be a worse embarrassment than his previous bill getting zero votes in the Senate a few months ago.
That is bad when his own party members see his legislation as too toxic to handle.
>>”The No. 1 issue for the people I meet is how we can get back to a place where we’re creating good, middle-class jobs that pay well and offer some security,” he said.<<
It is seeping into “Peoria” that the gummint is NOT the way to create those jobs. Most people think this won’t work. Many people think this will make things worse.
This is DOA and barry’s childish passive-aggressive “if nothing happens it is THEIR fault” blame game has no more currency than the race card his proxies play all the time.
Blah blah blah....Idiot says something....blah blah blah.....
Quick, for the good of the USA!
Already wrote to Sen. Toomey. The other two from my state are lost causes.
At a fundraiser in DC on the 15th of this month, the usurper-in-chief claimed that this bill would create 1.9 million jobs. The bill costs a half a billion dollars so each job would cost over $250,000 per job. What a deal! /s/
Typical whinyass commie snotnose! “I waaaaant it nooooooow!” Knock off the whining Barry!!!
Why? At the moment, there is a Republican Majority in the House, and without some kind of quid pro quo, the level of interest in this bill is ZERO.
Like maybe, repeal the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act"? Defund EPA? Get the Senate off their duffs and pass a 2012 budget bill compatible with the Ryan version, as has already been passed by the House? How about, expediting a Balanced Budget Amendment through the Senate, and submitting it to the various states?
What's your move, Mr. President?
GoPM to Obama:
Shove it up your a$$ without division or delay.
Our master hath spoken.
“What is the presidents strategy here?”
When the economy doesn’t improve in the next year (and it won’t), he’ll try to blame Republicans for not passing his bill. It won’t work.
If he tries to do that, I will turn him in to #attackwatch, a new conservative site on Twitter. (/s)
I’ve been watching that. Pretty funny site.
That is a good question. But the current administration wants to continue using a failed policy that handicaps the private sector with regulation and higher taxes, adds to the debt, and expands government.
These are the very policies that led to current unemployment levels. Let's just raise taxes and continue to borrow and print money. Not so fast, Mr. President!
The Bill to Nowhere
He's frantically making speeches from the podium, but is not calling leaders to the WH for talks.
He'd rather do a 45 minute speech in front of the public than get dirty in an 8-hour nuts-and-bolts session in the back room.
Which bill? I had no idea a president had a say in writing legislation...in fact, if civics class serves me right, his duty is to execute laws passed in congress.
Can this “Constitutional scholar” please be clued in?
He ought to switch to Bill Clinton’s style. Spend eight hours doing a nuts-and-bolts session with opposition leaders, work out a compromise, and then do a 45 minute speech denouncing the compromise and trying to sound principled.
A) He's too lazy to spend several hours doing real work and
B) He hates being forced into a group setting where real discussion happens because it becomes clear to those in the room just how stupid he is.
I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. Liberals set up these twitter codes (#attackwatch for turning in people who say bad things about Obama, and #usdayofrage for coordinating the protest today on Wall Street) and conservatives have hijacked both of them quite humorously.
You can view the two, even if you aren't on Twitter, by going to:
You hope that you can get the MSM to tank for you like Clinton did in 1996 but I and a great many others no longer watch the alphabet idiots and the only use I have for the Slimes and Compost is to wrap dead fish in. Saying the same mantra may work in some religious scenarios but a constant refrain of "Pass this Bill" starts making us say "Piss on this Bill" in response. The fact that you sat on this bill for weeks over your summer vacation adds to our contempt at your harangue!
Racist. Racist. You are a racist. Nahnahnahnahnahnah.
But he can demagogue and call names like Truman.
Has Obama’s bill been scored does it have a number?
Fill in the blank someone HR___.
Yup, even the kids will be shocked if they pay attention.

.

.
Best Band EVER!
HR0801? Symbolic of face with big ears who is The One?
Why does he even bother with asking for passage. Just issue an executive order and it would be law lickity split.
Where did he get the number 1.9 million?
Bo and his wife are becoming a laughingstock in the USA. I think even the left are beginning to laugh at him.
I can’t wait for the tell-all books that come out about the Obamas.
I don't know. Obama makes up his own numbers and I just used his number as reported in the news by various news agencies.
That would save a couple of teleprompters and let Zero get more golf in.
Don't have to.
Obumbler hasn't sent the bill over to either house.
What a maroon!
Oh, stop that. LOL!!! If you could stick a baby rattle hanging from his ear, that would be appreciated.
Doesn’t he mean “Right Away”?
If the economy continues to implode, the pResident can cauterwahl at the top of his lungs, during the 2012 campaign, that he did all that was humanly possible to right the ship. It was the evil republicans fault. If the economy recovers, as businesses get hopeful that this Marxist interloper of dubious origin is going to get kicked out of office, he'll try to take credit for that (ignoring the fact that his 'jobs for government' bill did not pass). It's strictly politics. This fellow does not know how to govern or lead. He's just skilled in the fine art of demogaguery (and reading teleprompters).
He thinks both possibilities work for him.
If the Congress passes it and the economy continues to be crappy, then the MSM pushes the meme of Republicans sharing the blame. But it won't pass.
If it doesn't pass, then Zero moves to class warfare and race-baiting. Democrats on the debt supercommittee will demand raising taxes, which Republicans will not agree to, and Zero will campaign against the Rethuglican plutocrats protecting the fat cat rich. And with black unemployment through the roof, Zero will claim that failure to pass Son of Porkulus proves that the Rethuglicans are racists, motivating his black base to march and riot.
Hey Obama, I can help you with that:
Step 1: Resign
Step 2: Take all your Marxist sycophants with you
He's desperate because he wants to funnel this money to the unions to help with his re-election campaign.
