At this past July's Comic-Con International in San Diego, Archie Comics announced that not only would its exceedingly popular new character, Kevin Keller, the first openly homosexual member of the iconic Riverdale Gang, will star in his own ongoing series, but that readers would also see Keller get married in a future issue of Life With Archie. The publisher announced this week that the happy event will take place in Life With Archie #16, on sale in January.

Not a lot of people reading Archie Comics...too Gay.
I’m more shocked they still publish Archie than I am that they’d have an openly gay character.
What next? Betty an unwed mother?
One thing is for sure. It won’t be very popular in NY 9!
I always had my suspicions about Jughead.
Archie Comics are a little slice of Americana. So naturally the left feels obligated to tarnish it.
For decades, Archie Comics went out of its way to avoid controversy. I wonder if there has been some changes in management...i.e, liberal freak nephew taking over for old uncle or some such. why else endanger a 70+ year franchise?
Mind’s Eye Bleach .. PLEASE!!!!
Me Too! Who knew this comic book was still in print? I thought the Dobie Gillis TV show snuffed out Archie and the Gals in 1959!
Nobody reads the crap anyway. I always found it boring. Good riddance. Hopefully they just end up shutting down.
>>> Not a lot of people reading Archie Comics...too Gay.
Not too gay. Too expensive. Comics generally have priced themselves out of their old general market and moved into older demographic comic book shop sales.
This whole fiasco seems kind of queer to me.
I haven’t read comic books since 8th grade, and it seems most comic book readers are in their twenties or older. So it makes sense that they are making them more political, and more PC, since anyone who’s still reading this stuff at that age has a desperate need to belong to SOME group.
I wonder if any other characters in Archie are married, or if the only time anyone’s ever gotten married has been a gay character. No, don’t trouble yourself looking, I don’t care that much.
I hope they through in depression, multiple partners, and AIDS for realism.
so sad...I had to stop reading Archie years ago because it got so politically correct.
I'd laugh until I was passing out...
If they are born that way, it's a birth defect. Is anyone working on a genetic test, so we can stamp it out with an abortion? You would think that the "pro-choice" side would be all for this.
May just as well perform sodomy as well. Doesn’t really matter as the audience for this rag is gay. They’re already insane, might as well have their own insane comic.
So the poop-sexers have found yet another wholesome thing to dirty up?
I believe the original Archie writer was a Born again Christian. I don’t know who writes it now, but the originator must be rolling in his grave!
My 9-year old son likes the Archie Digest. I haven't run into gay characters in them, or any controversy. Yet.
I’ve never read Archie, but I’ve read a little about this. Archie and the gang and this gay kid are still in high school, but there’s an alternate future book where Archie is married to one of the girls. In fact, I think they couldn’t decide, so they have one version where he’s married to Betty and one where’s he’s married to Veronica. Oh, and they had a storyline where Obama and Palin were debating at the school and it was “nonpartisan.” Nonpartisan in that Archie chose Obama, and his enemy chose Palin. Gee, I wonder who the writers like.
Thanks for the info. Sounds awful. Who would want to read that for fun?
Salman Dude ! You actually posted this Crap.!!
This is all you have to do on a Saturday night.?
Sorry man.
They couldn’t have a black kid choose Obama and a white kid choose Palin — too obvious.
What a goofy grin
BTW, Archie and the gang are teenagers. What's the deal with setting them up in a future where they are adults anyway? "Archie" readers are kids, not grown-ups. Who is the target audience? Gay 20 somethings who still read Archie? Can't imagine that demographic is that large.
Can the Irish sue? I see a very special Archie AIDS Special coming.........
I just read on Wiki that the creator was Jewish but licensed them out for Christian use because he figured they shared his values. And the guy in charge now who is gaying it up is his son.
PUKE.
The destruction of a moral society continues..........
I read the GI Joe comic for a few years as a kid but haven’t really looked at one much in the years since that came and went except for some of the rebooted GI Joe ones a year or two back.
I still prefer the 80s ones with the fun commercials:
