Mayweather (42-0, 26 KOs) delivers another victory and wins the WBC title from Ortiz, but it may have been the most bizarre night of the great fighter's career.
The end of the fight was pure insanity. The bout was heating up in the fourth when Ortiz landed some solid shots and drove Mayweather into ropes. The 24-year-old got too aggressive and leapt into the air headbutting Mayweather.
Referee Joe Cortes wisely paused the fight. That's when Ortiz walked behind the ref's back to apologize and hug Mayweather. Cortes grabbed Ortiz and walked him back to center of the ring to dock him a point. From there, Cortes lost control of the fight.
The referee looked the other way while Ortiz again walked up to Mayweather in the middle of the ring with hands out in a peace offering. Mayweather hit him with a slapping left. Ortiz looked at Cortes, who was still in a haze, to ask what the heck just happened? That's when Mayweather delivered a right hand bomb straight down the pipe. Ortiz (29-3-2) went down and couldn't back to his feet. The fight was over just as it was really starting.
As if that wasn't embarrassing enough, Mayweather engaged in a ridiculous conversation with Merchant. The veteran announcer tried to press Mayweather on why he threw the punches when Ortiz clearly wasn't fighting. Mayweather refused to do so. Then he snapped getting in the face of Merchant, who finally fired back. It was a terrible moment for both.

Gayweather: classless woman-beater and always in jail. Compare that to Manny Pacquiao who makes it a point never to miss Sunday mass, even the morning after his Vegas fights and never cheated on his wife. Like always..Floyd will duck Pacman for a fight just to avoid the loss column.

Mayweather won’t fight Pac-Man until Manny is old and worn out.

I’ve been watching boxing a long time and that was one of the lowest class moves ever, and his tirade against Larry Merchant post fight showed Mayweather for what he truly is - a lowlife punk that needs a good ass-kicking and the man to do it is Pac.
I’m absolutely livid right now, and I didn’t pay a cent to watch the fight.
Mayweather is a punk and excuser.
His plan is to fight a worn-out Pac Man 3 years from now, and he has been dodging him for 3 years while Pac Man has fought everyone.
Pac Man should issue a statement tomorrow and call him a little punk b**** and tell him to put up or shut up.

Mayweather started it by going off on Merchant, saying HBO should fire him and that Merchant doesn’t know $#IT about Boxing.
Mayweather did that because he knew what Merchant was going to ask next: When are you going to stop making excuses and fight Pac Man?
I would pay $100.00 to watch Pac Man give that punk a boxing lesson for 11 rounds, then KO him in the 12th

Mayweather screwed himself, because the demand for a Pac Man fight will only be louder and longer, and Mayweather needs to put up or shut up.
Pac man needs to call him out for the punk that he is and perhaps goad him into signing to fight within the next 6-12 months.

I recorded the fight, and you can actually hear Ortiz say “Sorry” when they bumped gloves and Ortiz game him a half-hug.
Before Ortiz even had a chance to bring his hands back up, Mayweather hit him with a L-R combo.

Ortiz showed nothing but class and grace in the post fight interview.

That's debatable. At least Floyd undergoes olympic drug testing for his fights. Pac Man wont. They won't fight because Pac Man refuses to test, end of story.

I noticed you were covering this fight live in another thread, and commented on the sucker punch.
Don’t know what happened with the fight but I will always take the side against Merchant. What an arrogant, obnoxious, no talent piece of caca.
BS - Pac Man offered to take a test before and immediately after the fight and would wipe up the ring with this cheap shot, sucker punching punk and Mayweather still refused and made excuses, just like he has been for the last 3 years.
Mayweather has been dodging Pac Man for 3 years, making a more excuses than Obama while Pac Man fights everyone and Mayweather fights sub-par fighters once a year.

Pac Man will have his blood checked before and after the fight for illegal substances, so if he beats Mayweather and fails the test, Mayweather gets the win and stays undefeated, how can you argue this?

He’s going to wait another 3 years after Pac Man is a shot, worn out fighter while Mayweather fights 2nd rate fighters and sucker punches them to win so he doesn’t have to go 12 rounds.
Mayweather is an arrogant wife-beater and a no-class punk, as proven in the post-fight interview with his tirade against Larry Merchant, out of the blue.
If anyone is juicing, it’s Mayweather as that post fight interview had all the looks of a roid rager who blew up for no reason.
They even test the water bottles for illegal substances after the first Aaron Pryor-Alexis Arguello fight.
The “Steroids” excuse by Mayweather is translation for “Im afraid to get my ass kicked by Pac Man, so I won’t fight him until he’s washed up while I fight a bum once a year”
Mayweather is just trying to buy time because he won’t fight Pac Man in his prime because Pac will knock him into the cheap seats and shut him up, but he’ll still make a million excuses.
