NYC meteorologist Heidi Jones pleads guilty to falsely reporting rape
CBS ^

NEW YORK - Heidi Jones, former New York tv meteorologist, admitted Wednesday she'd made up claims of being repeatedly attacked by a stranger on the city streets, allegations that sparked an extensive investigation before police said she told them she'd invented the story to get attention.

Jones, 38, pleaded guilty Wednesday to two misdemeanor counts of falsely reporting an incident. The judge says she will be sentenced to three years' probation and 350 hours of community service -- the same amount of time prosecutors say police spent looking into her false claims, reports CBS station WCBS.

It took over nine months for the plea deal to be worked out.

Now, will she have to pay the cost of police man hours spent due to her lies, as does Casey Anthony?

"This has been a tragic case for Heidi Jones."

Still playing the victim. (puke) Also, it's really hard to believe someone from the media would make something up (extreme sarcasm)

Of course the femi-nazi’s have always said from the beginning, women don’t lie about such things....and those that lie hurt the victims that have really been raped and brutalized...jail time for false report to police...

I’m not what you’d call a handsome man, but she looks guilty to me. Maybe after a six pack and a couple shots.

There seems to be this stupid FR game of declaring people in the news as guilty or not depending on whether they’re lookers.

It originated in threads about female high school teachers accused of having sex with underage male students. If the teacher was attractive, the FR jury concluded that she probably had not forced the boy to do anything he didn't want to do, so... Jury nullification.

It makes no sense in cases like this.

Wonder how she's doing now?

The most recent news I found said that Crystal Gail Mangum was in jail for murdering her boyfriend.

(I finally noticed that her name is Mangum, not Magnum.)

I thought women never lie about rape. Isn’t that what the feminists always told us?

Or did they all change their minds during the Clinton years?

Nope. It originated when the attorney of teacher Debra Lafave, found guilty of having sex with a fourteen year old student, argued that she should not be sent to prison because she was too pretty and would be eaten alive (no pun intended) by the other prisoners. It worked because she avoided prison. See here. So the guilty/not guilty thing has since become a sarcastic joke pointing out the ludicrousness of meting out justice based on the attractiveness or unattractiveness of the accused as was done in the Lafave case.

Debra Lafave

Correction: Lafave wasn’t found guilty because the prosecutor dropped the charges, but there was no doubt that she had the relationship with the kid.

Any any white male who has been through family/divorce court will tell you that it’s an “Old Biomom System” instead of an “Old Boy System.”

And then people like Michael Savage wonder why white Western men have practicallly stopped marrying and having children as opposed to their Muslim counterparts whose women are under Sharia law. (not that I’m a proponent of Sharia law but Western family court law is the exact opposite EXTREME of Sharia law)

Did you read the article that I linked? I was following those Lafave threads from the beginning and can assure you that's how it started. It has taken on a life of its own now, but at its core it's sarcasm related to the Lafave case. Sure, there are often discussions in those threads about how it's a victimless crime since for most teen boys (me included when I was a teen) it would be a dream come true to have sex with a moderately attractive teacher, but that's not what the whole guilty/not guilty thing is about.

I will always throw a good, meaty, bone for that radio guy, Tom Leykis, for SAYING HER NAME OUT LOUD, during that mess.

He is an iffy guy...Some of his programs were great, some in the gutter...but, boy did I LOVE it when he made a point of making a point of speaking this POS’s name.

Wonder how she's doing now? Probably trying to sue her lawyer from the first go round because it was raccciiissss.

I think Tom Lekyis will be back doing his daily show again after his CBS contract is up next year. Isn't he doing a wine show for a Los Angeles CBS radio station in the meantime?

Yeah....it's billed as a “life style program”...Haven't heard it. I met him a few times socially when I lived in LA. Definitely an original. I liked his early ‘90’s show...lots of un-PC stuff...politics, pop culture. His later show...well, as he would say,I’m def NOT the target audience.

Did you know him from the early show or the devolved Leykis 101? Just as an aside, I think the guy is still rather traumatized from a difficult childhood...being a very smart kid stuck in a weird blue collar family that moved to some crappy far out suburb of NYC where he felt completely alienated. Always wish he'd write a book...I do believe he's go an interesting one in him. Hmmmm...wonder if the show is going national...hope he goes back to his orginal format and leaves the "Dad" stuff...teaching the "boys" about how to get over on women. He's a tad old for that stuff. And, he really was a smart guy that was fun to listen to when he talked about things of substance.

Accusing a man of raping you? That is about as bad as they come. You literally murder the man's good name. She should do hard time for that.

I'm a woman and enjoy the equality we have in the US...problem is it's not EQUAL. Women have it much easier, have more choices in life, are not held to the same standards in many cases.

I've got a REAL problem with what some women do the their ex-husbands...I was divorced once and just wanted out—I don't understand these women that think their X, after paying child support and splitting marital assets fairly owes them ANYTHING. Boy, if I were a man, I would get a pre nup. My husband and I don't have one, but we are cut from the same cloth and have histories of being decent to our X's. I would, however, highly recommend that men do this. It could extracate you from a VERY nasty, never ending situation.

How does one live with themselves, draining a guy dry, not working, using the kids against him...It blows my mind.

But back to this creep. Should have gotten at least a couple of years in prison. She has no sympathy from me. Plus, she looks like a tranny.

Hey! Thanks for the explanation...always wondered where that came from. I figured it had some other explanation other than being “male”.

That teacher sure was pretty. She should have gone to prison. Some boys at 14 are very, very innocent. She is pretty, but a vile human being.

Le Tourneau was very pretty, too. And she is certifiable.

If I were a man, I wouldn't hit it. I'D HIT HER. Pow! Right in the kisser. I know, I'm a woman that just advocated for a beat down on a woman. So sue me.
