Ten-year-old Livvy James loves her new school uniform, particularly the smart, grey skirt with two pleats and pockets decorated with hearts.
Walking to school on my first day back, I was nervous and excited, but most of all I just felt like shouting Yeay! says Livvy, who wore her shoulder-length blonde hair that day in a swishy pony-tail.
I was so excited that I didnt care what people thought about me. Even if people looked at me or were saying nasty things, I didnt care. I felt happy because I could be me and didnt have to pretend any more.

Yes, there’s always a hidden back story, like
the parents wanted a girl. They UK media
would never write about these details.
Doesn’t fit the militant agenda.
Poor kid, talk about having real identity issues in the future. If she pretends this all throughout her life, what an injustice to oneself or even for others. Too bad, people cannot like the way that God created them. Looks like the parent could had encouraged this as the child has confusion.
I used to have long hair as well. About down to mid-back.
that should read he not she/getting late.
Ah gee, another weirdo parent.
Like naming your baby daughter Stanley because you wanted a son?
What lavatory will he/she enter?
He's got dangly bits. Knocking the knees and wafting in the breeze. So it's a he.
It's male.
I'm male, have a pony tail (long) and might occasionally wear a skirt and play bagpipes.
But I do have those fiddy bits hanging outside.
It's a matter of plumbing, ya see.
Outies are boys, innies are girls.
When, dear Lord, did they leave off teaching that little secret?

Not mine. Occupado! No descuto!
I'm pretty firm about throne time.
And can use languages from several countries to enforce that.

“Hell, I have a middle of the back pony tail. But I dang sure don’t ‘swish it’ except to swat flies.”
swat flies with your hair?
It’s darn hard to really raise a boy bent on being a boy, as a girl. Usually the gender instinct is pretty strong. He’ll take the Barbie dolls and pretend they’re guns, going rat-a-tat-a-tat. His girl counterpart, in the meantime, will be having tea with G.I. Joe.
Sometimes things go out of kilter for a myriad of cumulative reasons, the boy fixates on girl things and makes them his world. Or vice versa. I have a hunch that family cruelty plays a role in a lot of these scenarios, where people feel vastly uncomfortable with who they are so they escape to a fantasy identity.
That's a lot of back hair!
An imprint went seriously wrong there.
Now that I'm civilian again, I can snap my head around and kill flies dead.
You ever watch horses deal with flies? That tail ain't just for pretty. Same technique. I just had to study it for a while.

Anyone 'it' wants. Nobody else's feelings or concerns will be given a moments thought.
I did leave that a little ambigious, though.
/johnny
Right up until he gets 'splained about polite behavior.
Which is 2 seconds after he's face-to-face with me.
Nobody, ever, disturbs my throne time.
/johnny
I figured that was what you meant.
Just thought I’d see if you were paying attention. :)
And that's all I'm allowed to say about that.
/johnny
The phenomenon known in animals as imprinting becomes more complex in people because unlike animals, people can reason. That provides a whole new dimension in which things can go wrong.
It's best to raise boys as boys, and girls, as girls.
This avoids all the axe murder unpleasantness when the kids figure out that you need professional help.

I went to read the article. Here’s the problem.
He liked to dress up in my skirts and spray my perfume. Other people would say: Oh, dont worry, its a phase, hell grow out of it.
But we werent worried. Phillip and I felt the same way. If our child liked girls things, then he could have whatever he wanted. We just thought: So what?
It did become a problem when it came to presents, having to tell our families: Would you mind not buying boys stuff for Sam, because hed prefer Mermaid Barbie.
They didn’t let him outgrow it and in fact encouraged it by telling people to purchase girlie things for him.
There’s a picture of him wearing a green princess dress for his 6th birthday. Gee where did he get that dress. He sure didn’t go buy it himself.
If this becomes a trend, there will be four types of public loos: Male, Female, Neither/Both, and Wheelchair Access.
A scalpel can de-dangle but ain’t no way to change genetics. ;) Mommy should be shot for the abuse she is committing and junior will need decades of mental help to deprogram him.
I went to school with a guy whose mother pulled this crap on him when he was much younger...she wanted a girl so she made one out of her son. It did not end well when he later, in drag, picked up a drunk hunter in a hick town bar. He barely survived when that particular hunt turned up some unexpected ‘extras’.
This is as evil as it gets.
There will just be one bathroom, large enough for wheelchairs.
What gets me is that if the mother had him dressed in a white communion dress she would be charged with abuse.
Blood, mother! Blood!
It sucks to be a dad or an NCO these days, unless you blow off the PC crap, and call a spade for a spade.
And that's the moral equivalent to eating babies. (some NCOs do eat babies for breakfast)

They can also be unreasonable, self-absorbed, and stupid.
That is God's own truth.
/johnny
To have told him, Pull yourself together, act like a boy, would have been tantamount to child abuse.
I want my children to be able to express themselves freely, to be who they are, not what I want them to be.
So, they have the school tell the other kids to NOT think or express themselves freely, by making them address a boy as a girl from now on. Forcing everyone else to play in their charade. Why is ‘their’ freedom more important than all the other kids’?
“Theres a picture of him wearing a green princess dress for his 6th birthday. Gee where did he get that dress. He sure didnt go buy it himself.”
Exactly. One of my sons has a dramatic streak. When he was about three he saw some cute little sparkley tutus at the store. He lobbied HARD for one of those sparkly tutus, especially a pink one! LOL! I told him no, Daddy would have a cow if I brought home one of those tutus for him. Same son startled me one day at a playdate by dressing up in his female friend’s princess outfit. Yikes! (He did look awfully pretty, though. :)
What I realized from these incidents was not that he was “really” a girl, but that he really likes fancy clothes! So I got him and his brother some fancy clothes for *boys* — cute pirate outfits, sparkly knight-in-shining-armor outfits, etc.
Lo and behold, no more asking for tutus or dressing up in princess dresses. All he wanted was the clothes, not gender reassignment!
But what if they freely trounce the living daylights out of him whenever the playground monitor isn’t looking, and then return and look shocked that anyone should do such a thing in broad daylight? Innocent, cherubic faces, as Livvy accuses them each. How long will Livvy remain Livvy? Will his mummy let him morph back to Sam?
She took Livvy to their GP, explaining her son felt she was really a girl, and was referred to Birmingham Childrens Hospital, where blood tests showed her chromosomes were normal.
Already fretting about the onset of puberty, Livvy says she is freaking out over the thought of developing facial hair and cant bear the thought of her voice breaking.
So Saffron is looking into hormone therapy to block the development of masculine traits, but says that is a couple of years away and, besides, who knows what the future holds.
As for the teenage years when Livvys female friends are dating boys, the family would rather cross that bridge when they reach it. They havent even begun to think about the possibility of transgender surgery.
I’m afraid you may be right, this may not end well.
What if the girls also reject him, too?
And two and three and four, LEFT, DAMMIT, LEFT! Pick up a rock and put it in your LEFT hand. YOUR MILITARY LEFT HAND!
It's hard to watch that when you took care of so many.
/johnny
Yep! I think at a certain age and quite young, they want to start picking out their own clothes, and most stores carry 5 times as much girl stuff as boys. Its just a matter of finding the right boy’s store to suit their tastes.
They have been programmed to think it’s ‘cool’.
She says she would. I think something will have to give before then though. Lets say some guy doesn’t know, just how do you explain that one? If he thinks he was lonely as a 6 year old, wait til the teen years and dating.
What happens when the kid starts growing serious facial hair and his voice changes?
And that's why we have barracks for young men, waiting to turn into plaster saints.
It never works out that way, but it's been the way for over 300 years. Kipling wrote about it.
/johnny
All the programming in the world will not make him “cool,” except when teacher’s looking. In the private, tribal, barbarous hell of children when they’re on their own amongst each other, he will suffer terribly.
Axe murder is the best I can figure.
It won't be polite or pretty, however it works out.
/johnny
“Like naming your baby daughter Stanley because you wanted a son?”
Bingo. And now you know the rest
of the st0ry.
I totally agree. I’m just saying that gay/wannabee oppositesexuals are the new fashion accessory for the modern PC teenaged/20something set. The age-targeted media is filled with just how ‘cool’ it is and how much ‘cooler’ those that play along are than those backward normal people like us.
