Calling Obama's Bluff by Passing ALL His Proposed Tax Increases Effective Immediately (Vanity)
Self

Posted on 09/19/2011 8:18:26 AM PDT by indianrightwinger

How about the House passing his tax increase plan in TOTO right away and make all effective immediately and the dare the Senate to pass it? If the Senate takes up on the measure and passes it (which they won't), there are two fatal scenarios for Obama: 1) sign and crash the economy further and 2) veto and reveal how awful his economic prescriptions are.

If the Senate does not take up the measure, then it will be proven for all to see how stupid Obama's ideas are that even Dummycrats won't go for them.

Thoughts?

hedge fund traders and many corporate jet owners are obama constituents. I believe the accelerated corporate jet depreciation that so annoys Barry was a biptartisan or democrat earmark in the last stimulus bill

Besides, what’s Trump et al gonna do? vote for Barry?

1. Cut the total income tax rate to 5%, eliminate ALL loopholes and make ALL income taxable.

2. Enforce the damn tax code!

3. Make everyone have some skin the game concerning taxes by eliminating all tax exemptions/credits.

4. Watch the libbies squeal.

I wouldn’t mind paying 5% income tax on all income if everyone else was, from the minimum wage worker to Warren Buffet Himself.

Oh, and make it so that creating tax shelters overseas is illegal too. I would love to see 90% unemployment for financial planners and tax advisors that work for liberal millionaires and billionaires.

Be sure to hold the vote while the stock market is open and watch the market crash as the vote approaches majority.

“Good Idea. Call his bluff. No matter what he then can’t blame Republicans. . . “

Of course he could...and would.

It’s tempting. He gets his paltry $0.035T increase in annual revenue and $0.150T in already-absorbed “cuts*”, then has to deal with the remaining $1.400T deficit. To wit: “fine, you get what you want, you reduced the deficit by 10%, now what about the remaining 90% which can’t wait 10 years to resolve?”

(* - Medicare/cade reductions are just an already-planned transfer to Obamacare, and military reductions are already underway. There’s no “cuts” here that weren’t already in place.)

But ... we can’t go there. We have to stand and fight it. Calling bluff on someone who is always bluffing and has nothing to lose destroys you. You can’t fix stupid by pointing out “fine, we tried it, it didn’t work” when there’s always another stupid plan to try.

THIS is the problem with the Right wing: we keep trying to reason with the Left, keep giving in to reach “see? it didn’t work”, when they don’t care about reason and success, only implementation of their latest whim. Giving them what they want does not dissuade them from asking again.

I believe that was the rationale when campaign finance reform passed.

But the president will veto it.

But the Supreme Court will knock it down.

But, but, but!

And the rationale when Obama was elected. Now there will be no more excuses for screaming racism.

And the rationale when we shared power in the Senate.

And we get stuck with more stupid policies that further destroy us.

That sounds like you are suggesting destroying ourselves to teach them a lesson.
You say they won't pass it because it is unwise if you want the country to survive. Maybe they are trying to destroy it in order to rebuild it according to their ideals.

You could not possibly have thought this through. Can’t you just see this? The REPUBLICAN House passes enough new taxes to destroy this country once and for all. THEN, the DEMOCRAT senate accuses them of trying to destroy the country and refuses to take it up. The DEMOCRATS get all the credit for “saving” us poor tax payers an small businesses, and the Pubbies are OUT OF THERE in a tidal wave of anger. And if you think that isn’t exactly how they would frame it, you are nuts.

Cynical politics to do the wrong thing will bite you in the butt.

Clearly, Obama thinks he’s clever. “Pass my bill or else!”
We do nothing, he has his bash-the-rich campaign.
We help him, and he will blame Republicans for not doing something else and being co-enablers of the bad economy.

Better to sit back and say “Fine, you want it ... PASS IT IN THE SENATE FIRST.”

Let the DEMOCRATS vote for jobkilling higher taxes. NOT US.

Slightly more dangerous than the thought I had when he addressed the Joint Session of Congress. (I thought maybe the Republicans should cheer raucously at every other sentence. It would have been great theater!)

Hussein is not putting forth real plans. He knows they will not pass. He now recognizes the economy is going to be terrible right up till election day 2012 and has decided to effectively act as if none of his agenda to create jobs has ever passed.

You've nailed it EXACTLY.

Obama is doubling down on his failed policies, catering to his base by demanding policies even a Democrat Congress wouldnt pass, and proposing bills he know wont pass.

This is all campaign election gimmicks nothing more. Not a solution not even an attempt to reach common ground. His proposals would be deadly to the economy and move us further in the socialistic direction. But since they wont pass, what Obama will campaign on is "those mean Republicans didnt let me save the economy by taxing the rich" his base will eat it up.

But I think everyone else will see through the chicanery.
