Palinís smarter than people think, says ó Ralph Nader
Hot Air ^ | SEPTEMBER 19, 2011 | Ed Morrissey

Almost two weeks ago, I noted that the New York Times seemed shocked, shocked that Sarah Palin had suddenly turned into an anti-establishment conservative populist in a Labor Day weekend speech in Iowa. The Gray Lady wasn’t the only media outlet who missed, well, almost all of Palin’s political career. Salon’s Justin Elliott was so stunned by the speech that he turned to Ralph Nader to analyze the sudden new direction taken by Palin. Nader pronounced himself impressed:

We decided to call the longtime left crusader about a speech Palin gave in Iowa earlier this month, one which seemed to mark the transformation of Palin from a standard-issue movement conservative to something more independent and more reformist. And Nader told us he liked what he heard.

“I think she’s a lot smarter than most people credit her,” says Nader. “Judging by her comments, she is squarely in the camp of conservative populism, opposed to corporatism and its corporate state.”

She is not of the Washington elite crowd and the main reason I support her. Also the main reason the RINO’s dislike her, Rove being among them.

“Judging by her comments, she is squarely in the camp of conservative populism, opposed to corporatism and its corporate state.” -- Ralph Nader

"Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power." -- Benito Mussolini.

IOW, Nader acknowledges that the Obama government is fascist & that Palin opposes fascism.

Nader has always been quite nutty about corporations, but I gotta admit that he's stated this surprisingly well. Believers in small government aren't big supporters of the Chamber of Commerce, etc. types who just want to be the different pigs at the federal trough.

I would so love to see Palin defeat Obama, for so many reasons. I would love to have someone who didn't go to an Ivy show the delusional elitists (e.g. the Krugman crowd) how things should be done. I would love to see Katie Couric and her cocktail crowd eat crow. I would love to see the limousine socialist crowd exposed for their hypocrisy and lack of true understanding. The list is long..

Ooh boy, how exciting, Sarah gets an endorsement from one of the most extreme anti-capitalist (a.k.a. communist), pro-Palestinian leftists in America.

If Nader likes Palin and what she is advocating, then I may need to re-evaluate the fact that I like her.

How I wish she’d run. Maybe she’s thinking later, when the kids are older. If she won’t now, can’t blame her. But this is an opportune time, given the loser on the other side.

A lot of "RINO FReepers" agree with Rove.

The reasons Nader likes her is the reasons that many independents and democrats will vote for Palin in the general election. I don't know what the problem could be, Palin's stand on the issues are solidly conservative. It's just not beltway elite's version of conservatism.

Normally, I get squeamish when a leftist such as Ralph Nader makes positive noises about a conservative politician I admire, in this case Sarah Palin.

However, Ralph Nader, a lifelong leftist and a man who despises 'big business' frames his approval in terms that indicate he understands that although Sarah Palin is definitely conservative, she is not a believer in 'crony capitalism', where corporations give millions to politicians (in both parties) and expect - and receive -'access' and the passing of laws, usually tax-related, that favor these same corporations. That is not my idea of 'conservative'. We clearly need the corporations for employment and the supply of necessary goods and services but when they can avoid paying any taxes and generally receive favors smaller businesses can't obtain, that is a corruption of the political system. Palin understands this and, as president, with a Republican congress, would oppose it and put a spotlight on the deals politicians make with 'big business'. That would be beneficial and why the the Republican establishment, entrenched in 'buddy politics' oppose Sarah Palin.

Frankly, I never thought I'd be typing these words but here I am: Nader is right.

Well, there's a certain Texas A&M grad who may give you your wish. Personally I hate those Ivy League grifters with a passion.

Please, I hope that’s satire!

Republicans & Democrats are for Pro-business cronyism not True Free Marketers - real free marketers allow companies and corporations to rise and fall on their own and don’t pick winners and losers! I back Palin in that belief, if Nader or anyone else believes that then so be it but She’s right and I aint changing
