Obama Rejects Obamaism

Im a sap, a specific kind of sap. Im an Obama Sap.
When the president said the unemployed couldnt wait 14 more months for help and we had to do something right away, I believed him. When administration officials called around saying that the possibility of a double-dip recession was horrifyingly real and that it would be irresponsible not to come up with a package that could pass right away, I believed them.
I liked Obamas payroll tax cut ideas and urged Republicans to play along. But of course Im a sap. When the president unveiled the second half of his stimulus it became clear that this package has nothing to do with helping people right away or averting a double dip. This is a campaign marker, not a jobs bill.

Barry is running for reelection right now. He doesn’t have time to screw around with jobs and the economy.

Fool me once. . . .
How many times has this pseudo-conservative sap been fooled by Obama? Anyone who took the trouble to look into his background BEFORE the election would have known what they were getting—A Communist-Muslim-illegal with numerous terrorist and Communist friends, with no academic records at all.
And a man who had never actually done anything in his life, beyond Community Organizing—which is to say, Communist agitating.
But with Brooks, it’s fool me once, fool me a thousand times, I’m STILL a sucker!

What a terribly pathetic column.
Brooks just can't give up on the message that crease in the trouser leg sent him.
Brooks is worse than a "sap".

The White House gives moderates little morsels of hope, and then rips them from our mouths. To be an Obama admirer is to toggle from being uplifted to feeling used. The White House has decided to wage the campaign as fighting liberals. I guess I understand the choice, but I still believe in the governing style Obama talked about in 2008. I may be the last one. Im a sap.
Is Brooks a reprise of that journalist who loved to be beaten by sweaty Middle Eastern men.

Brooks had to keep saying that he
was a sap, as if he couldn’t believe
that even a super-brain
like him could be wrong. Elitist
conservatives are really liberals.
Liberals want the world to follow a
single “smart” leader.

From the NYT article
This wasnt a speech to get something done. This was the sort of speech that sounded better when Ted Kennedy was delivering it. The result is that we will get neither short-term stimulus nor long-term debt reduction anytime soon, and Im a sap for thinking it was possible. Yes, Im a sap. I believed Obama when he said he wanted to move beyond the stale ideological debates that have paralyzed this country. I always believe that Obama is on the verge of breaking out of the conventional categories and embracing one of the many bipartisan reform packages that are floating around. No you are not a sap. You are a far left wing ideolog that knows the Democrat party must dump Obama.
If the Democrat Party dumps Obama, the carnage from a campaign led by Hillary Clinton may allow the Democrat party to survive as center left hard left party even though she will not win. A campaign led by Obama will insure the Democrat party will not survive except as an extreme far far left party that can not be elected ever.
As Bob Dylan said, "There is a hard rain gonna fall."

David Brooks should just stop living a lie, ditch his wife, and start feeling mighty real.
His every thought and word is twisted into contradiction and incoherence due to the turmoil within himself.
It has nothing to do with politics for la Brooks.

Brooks is not a sap, he like many other so call journalists is a failure. A failure to such a existent that the public needs to “fire” him. Fire as in ignoring his articles, his very presence. He has shown he is a man of little thought and ability who has is being presented to the public as someone who is. Maybe that is why he admired Obama from the start as they have that in common.

I find very entertaining that David Brooks by any measure is termed a “conservative.” I don`t read his columns often (and for good reason), but nothing I`ve read of his exudes the tint of a right-of-center political philosophy. But of course, he writes for the Slimes. Anyone to the right of Pol Pot is “conservative” to them.
