I suggested DC as VP not to deliver RI (or any other NE state, although NH and maybe ME could go GOP next year) but as a “steady hand” a la Dick Cheney (hey, they have the same initials), that wasn't there to deliver a state or region, but was there to kick ass.

OTOH, Carcieri has little to no name recognition, unlike Cheney, so it would be a much bigger sell than Cheney was.

Perhaps a US Senate run would suit Carcieri better.

I liked your argument. Carcieri would add gravitas to the ticket and shore up the areas where Bachmann is lacking. If she gets the nomination he should definitely be on the short list.

Of course, if she doesn’t get the nomination, Carcieri would ideal to recruit for a Senate race. He’s probably one of the very few Republicans that would be competative in RI.
