Skip to comments.Gov. Rick Perry: Obama’s Middle East Policy Is Naive, Arrogant, Misguided and Dangerous

you. Let me begin by thanking Dr. Solomon Frager and Aron Hirtz for helping us organize this press conference today.
We are indignant that certain Middle Eastern leaders have discarded the principle of direct negotiations between the sovereign nation of Israel and the Palestinian leadership, and we are equally indignant that the Obama Administrations Middle East policy of appeasement has encouraged such an ominous act of bad faith.
Simply put, we would not be here today at the precipice of such a dangerous move if the Obama Policy in the Middle East wasnt naïve, arrogant, misguided and dangerous.
It must be said, first, that Israel is our oldest and strongest democratic ally in the Middle East and has been for more than 60 years. The Obama Policy of moral equivalency which gives equal standing to the grievances of Israelis and Palestinians, including the orchestrators of terrorism, is a dangerous insult.
There is no middle ground between our allies and those who seek their destruction. America should not be ambivalent between the terrorist tactics of Hamas and the security tactics of the legitimate and free state of Israel. By proposing indirect talks through the U.S. rather than between Palestinian leaders and Israel, this administration encouraged the Palestinians to shun direct talks.
Second, it was wrong for this Administration to suggest the 1967 borders should be the starting point for Israeli-Palestinian negotiations. When you consider this suggestion was made on the eve of the Israeli Prime Ministers visit, we see in this American Administration a willingness to isolate a close ally and to do so in a manner that is insulting and naïve.

IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.
IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.
Love the headline because you could pretty much insert anything in where it says “Middle East” and it would be correct.
Yep...that about says it all.
I didn’t know “O” had a ME policy
Tell it the way it is Rick and have no mercy.
A really great speech.
Get your perspective better positioned, Perry.
0bama’s policy is not naive on the ME. At all.
‘0bamas policy is not naive on the ME. At all.’
I think it is naive as the felt bowing to the arabs and apologizing for America would convince the muslims to love us. The ONLY thing they respect (as they would never ‘love’ us) is strength enough to make them fearful.
Yes, one of the best speeches I’ve heard in a long time especially against barry’s moslem policies.
The best speech or even article I’ve read on the failures of the administration in the ME. Obama has managed to create an absolutely toxic situation in the ME which will result in an all out war within the next year.
I have to agree....it is a complete mess thanks to that moslem living illegally in our WH.
Yes. I read it.
No. Neither Perry nor any pol running for office right now is going to identify the Muslim Marxist and his handlers as who they actually are. But knowing your enemy and calling it by its right name is key.
Perry has struck me as the only person running right now who’ll stand in manure and tell you something straight up. Even Cain apologized for his ‘anti-Muslim’ comments; someone got to him.
The infiltration in this country is blatant and verges on complete. Some time soon, our anonymity on the Internet is going to be dictated away by fiat, and then, those of us standing as watchmen are going take cover, since we don’t have the security surrounding us that the pols do.
“The obama policy of moral equivalnecy which gives equal standing to the grievances of Israelis and Palestinians including the orchestrators of terrorism is a very dangerous insult,” Perry said. “There is no middle ground between our allies and those who seek their destruction.”
Yes, it was a such a good speech.
You’re talking my language Rick!
That is exactly the Governor Perry I know.
And right now, he is just rimming the engine.
Great speech by Gov. Perry.
