September 21 at 6:30 PM, the Ground Zero Mosque will open its doors to show a photo exhibit in its community space. Park51 is hoping to discourage its opponents by declaring an early victory in spite of its recent embarrassments and setbacks. This grand opening does not mean that the fight is over. The project still has a long way to go until completion.

Dribbling Bacon grease around the area is a mighty fine baptismal.
A Bible study in NYC? ROFL!
You clearly do not understand that the Constitution as the social contract that it is. Muslims have NO INTENTION of ever respecting your property rights, infidel. To them, you are not a fellow citizen deserving respect for your rights, but are instead lower than dirt. They are USING your respect for the Constitution against you, and laughing up their sleeves at what they intend to do to civic respect for your unalienable rights once they wield power. They are not participants in that social contract and are therefore undeserving of its protections. Upon reading the Quran, Jefferson understood that, and considered Islam a mortal threat to this nation should it ever be established here.
Using Amazon’s search function for “bacon bandages,” one finds not only bandaids that look like strips of bacon, but also bacon car air freshener, breath mints, wallet, soap, and toothpaste. There are nice yellow “crime scene tape” bandaids too. Time to stock up!
Sonny, that sounds VERY plausible.
Of course not.
I am sorry , but the location is beyond disturbing. Just out of respect for the people who were so affected by Muslim terrorists on 9/11, if nothing else. Why if the intention was pure does it have to be there? It is a straight out insult.
Carry-Oke siad it better then I can...
Let's just call it for what it is.
Wow, just plain freakin wow!
Would not have happened with an atheist in the Whitehouse either.
Separation of church and state also includes separation of Islam and city/state.
The Flight 93 Memorial mosque (must see videos) « Creeping Sharia
“And I dont think any of us want to live in a country where local, state or government officials dictate who can and cannot build on their property.”
As a commercial real estate broker and someone who taught real estate law, econ, finance, and practice in college, I must ask when you plan on leaving this country. You are apparently unaware of the power such officials have over our property and property rights.
What sweet irony it would be if a spotted owl or some other “endangered” bird were to roost on one of window sills of this “mosque”, delaying the opening of this POS indefinitely.
I'm pretty much thinking it might be true, alot of these muslims folks seem to know who these guys are, and they describe them as being very shady.
The flip side (aka disclaimer), Muslims/arabs tend to be very big conspiracy theorists, so who knows, but they do have some points here (like how most of the money isn't coming from muslims in New York but from leftys around the country).
One of them gave me a pretty good idea about how this is a scam. He noted that the original cleric in charge had been telling the media, that he was going to go to iran to try and raise money. Okay. As this guy pointed out, this is supposed to be a sunni mosque, the iranians are shiite. It would be like protestants going to the pope to build a baptist church. Its for media consumption, since they don't know, but muslims do.
I hope a pork stand opens up in front of the building.
Interesting screenname. How did you come by it, if I may ask?
Great pic of the twin towers, and interesting info
What a middle finger: from both the Muslim community and the liberal elite that let them do this. :(
Anyone still think we’re going to win the War on Terror? We can’t even stop the Jihadists here in America. :(:(:(:(
I walked passed this place the other day during lunch. What a dump!
FWIW, I don’t think all Muslims are bad. I know personally of a Christian ministry that preached the gospel to the homeless on the streets.
The parking lot they used every Sunday was that of a local supermarket—and they used it with the blessing of the (at least nominally) Muslim business owner.
Convenient timing as the UN meets in NYC..Iran’s fearless leader waving to the crowds. Israel getting slammed, US getting slammed and scammed. Is Franklin Graham going to be invited to speak at the opening (sarcasam)

The Death Star is almost complete.
....And in the end, both progressives and jihadis LOSE. Neither Israel now Christianity is going to go away.
It happened in the People’s Republic of Kalifornia:

I thought the Constitution applied to all of the states, and people could do what they wanted with “their property” anwhere in the United States.
trumandogz is the resident muslim apologist.
Around 15 years ago, I was working offshore and reading David McCullogh’s bio on Harry Truman and also reading In Cold Blood by Truman Capote.
One of the guys thought it was funny and started calling me by that name.
“I believe you may not be aware of the zoning laws.”
As a conservative, I find zoning laws to be an overreach of governmental power that often times debilitates a property owner’s ability to maximize the financial utility of the land that they own.
However, if there is a specific zoning law in NYC which prohibits such a structure from being built in the city, then the land owners would have to comply.
You must understand that the US Constitution is not a cafeteria plan and you cannot pick and choose which parts of the Constitution should and should not be followed nor can you decide which people will and will not be protected by the Constitution.
I have read the entire Federal Convention debate and the philosophers favored by the authors.
and you cannot pick and choose which parts of the Constitution should and should not be followed nor can you decide which people will and will not be protected by the Constitution.
This has NOTHING to do with picking and choosing which parts we should or should not follow. Islam is incompatible with the social contract simply because its adherents believe their claims SUPERSEDE the Constitution in its entirety.
Got it? I didn't pick and choose, Muslims did. They are not Americans regardless of the twisted fantasy that has conferred them the legal status of "citizenship" with they gladly use to dismember that very Constitution. They are not deserving of its protections because they have stated, in writing, that they seek to destroy them.
Glad to clear things up for you.
“They are not Americans regardless of the twisted fantasy that has conferred them the legal status of “citizenship” with they gladly use to dismember that very Constitution. They are not deserving of its protections...”
Could you please cite a SCOTUS case where it was ruled that Muslims cannot be American citizens and are also not protected by the Constitution?
Oh please. I don't need a ruling from a claque of lawyers to understand the principles of our government thank you. You know as well as I do that they're so busy saving us from Christianity that they would never make such a ruling.
You used a great many words in that last post to say very little. :)
Basically, you aren’t a fan of zoning laws, but people still have to obey them.
Okay, we can agree on that. :)
“Good” muslims are actually bad muslims. IOW they aren’t following the dictates of their “faith”.
And the reverse holds as well.
For a few years in this country we were smart enough not to tolerate Nazis and Communists in our Govt and in our schools even though we protect freedom of speech.
Fislam is no less a danger to America.
Can we put your comments on “constitutional” tolerance on the tombstones of the next 2800 people slaughtered in America by muslims?
Islam is a religion, like Auschwitz was a THEME PARK.
AND THE CONSTITUTION IS NOT A SUICIDE PACT.
it was not designed to accommodate a “religion” whose primary theological directive is the destruction of that same Constitution, and the murder of those who would defend it.
While it would be great for each of us to live in our own constitutional fantasy world, the reality is that we live in a nation of laws and there is no law which will prohibit this mosque from being built.
Maybe there should be.
Congressman Col. Allen West explains islam in 1 minute and 44 seconds.
Watch it, save it and forward it.
Or ignore it at your AND OUR peril.
I am just curious. Can anyone non-Islamic enter a mosque and attend mosque proceedings? If so, we non-Islamic types should go and observe what is transpiring inside just to confirm that this religion of peace is really conducting peaceful proceedings. I think that I can enter any church in the US without being thrown out on my ear. I don’t think a mosque should be any different.
Why not presnt a showing of 170 Palestinian children wearing their official Hamas bomb belts?
To be fair, their major holiday’s breaking of the fast fell on that day- it’s determined by the postion of the moon, not by what happened on a western calendar date and thus is variable from year to year. This year it did just happen that way... a coincidence.
“Their major holiday.....determined by the position of the moon”
So the view that Islamic “Allah” is the former pagan moon god of Makkah is not that off the mark, n’est-ce pas?
Oh the environmentalist whackos would look the other way. Militaristic watermelons are not about principle; they are about destroying the WESTERN, more specifically AMERICAN way of life.
A church congregation has to get permission to build in almost any jurisdiction. City everywhere limit the use of private property. My objection is that the state of New York is encouraging the Muslims in their efforts while the city in California is discouraging Christians.
A most excellent summation of the evolution of man’s understanding of the G-d of Creation as revealed by Scripture.
And yet again more proof that Muslims worship something other than the Lord of Hosts.
Would you like random citizens of New York or California dictating what you can do with your property in Texas?
.
But state and local governments do dictate what you can do with your property and make you may “rent”for the privilege of using it.
