Health law likely to send premiums through roof, state says

A new report projects that the cost of health-insurance premiums in Ohio could increase by as much as 150 percent — or drop by 40 percent — in 2014, when key provisions of the new federal health-care law kick in.

The analysis was commissioned by the Ohio Department of Insurance to determine how the Affordable Care Act would affect premiums. It found that Ohioans who buy individual policies would have their costs rise the most. Rates also are expected to increase for those with employer-sponsored coverage, but not nearly as much.

“While ‘Obamacare’ supporters may argue these changes are necessary to ensure access, the results mean even more financial burden on the backs of taxpayers,” Taylor said in a statement.

“This report clearly shows what I have long predicted: Obamacare will result in bigger government, unsustainable costs and ultimately, less consumer choice.”

I noticed in the article how all the so-called “non-profit” groups are disputing all the figures in the Lt Governor's report and saying her report is partisan.

Yet they support Obamacare, pushed for it, and now are still claiming it will save the desperately poor’s lives....

How can a non-profit be so consistently on the side of the democrats and so anti-Republican at the drop of a hat yet retain their non-profit status (which gives them a HUGE tax advantage)?

Pop quiz!

Is it because:

A) The Republicans are always wrong and the democrats are always right?
B) The news media is intensely biased and simply lies about these non-profits (conversely, would they point out to readers if a non-profit was advocating Republican policies, that it was illegal for a non-profit to take a political position)?
C) The IRS has decided not to question a non-profit’s eligibility over politics because they too are biased politically?
D) Both B & C.

It says here that Individuals with Insurance will face the highest increase, then we listen to the news and the news says most employers will have to drop their insurance and pay the fine.

That means that individuals will have to find their own insurance at the higher rates.
This whole thing is a Clusterf***. It is designed to force Americans into a single payer insurance scam run by the Government.

We need to go to Congress and demand the thing is scrapped.

They went up dramatically in California after ObamaCare passed.

They sure could study how much rates will rise, but they should also study how much care will be deferred or delayed or even cancelled by various “every action has an equal and opposite reaction” consequences. We already see many doctors refusing new Medicare patients. At some point doctor rolls will fill. Shortages for medications, shortages for scans, treatments that require specialized care, and more.

Of course the OP can’t find out a simple thing like punishment for refusal to pay, so perhaps nobody will ever know the consequence that hurts them the most until it is too late. Who needs “death panels” when you can’t get care it equates to the same thing!

For some reason there is an exemption for medical sharing programs. This is the option I am looking at.

My daugher works for a large assisted living facility and their premiums tripled a month ago. Some employees are now working part-time jobs just to pay for health insurance. My daugher dropped hers because she just can’t afford it. The pay period the new premiums hit, my daughter said there were several employees actually crying.

How many of those crying voted FOR Obama, or didn’t vote at all?

All I know, is if my premiums go up, and I’m forced to drop my coverage, I won’t buy into the government plan and I won’t pay any fines. They can take me to jail.

Isn’t that what the 2010 election was all about?

If it is anything like Canada, you wont have a choice. They will simply take it out of your paycheck (or tax return).

They got to catch you first. and as Obama fills the federal prisons with the poor, the outnumbered Federal agents are going to have their hands full.

Glad to hear that. If they come for you, call me, I'll help you take some of them out.

Sadly, I know a few Jews that will climb on the cattle cars singing Obama's praise. It's damn hard to feel bad for them.
