As bad news piles up for the Democrats, I asked a top Democratic strategist if it were possible that President Obama might pull a Lyndon Johnson and soberly face the cameras, telling America that he has decided that the demands of partisan politics are interfering with his efforts to right our economy and that he has decided to withdraw to devote full time to our recovery. His answer: Yes. Its possible. If things continue as they are and have not turned around by January, it is certainly possible.
Just looking at Michelle Obamas unsmiling face during her husbands recent speech to Congress triggered an insight: These folks arent having fun anymore.
Obama, whose insistence on passing a healthcare law that the courts will probably throw out cost his party the House, will now cost his party the Senate too. Indeed, it is even possible that the Republicans win 60 seats.
Currently, there are strong Republican candidates in 12 seats now held by Democrats. All could win in a 10- to 15-point landslide (which is shaping up). They include: Virginia (George Allen), Florida (Adam Hasner), New Mexico (probably Rep. Steve Pearce), Montana (Rep. Denny Rehberg), North Dakota (Rep. Rick Berg), Nebraska (Jon Bruning), Missouri (Sarah Steelman would be the best), Michigan (Pete Hoekstra), Ohio (Josh Mandel would be best), Wisconsin (Tommy Thompson or one of the others), Pennsylvania (Tim Burns would be great) and Connecticut (Chris Shays better than Linda McMahon).
If all win, the GOP is only one vote shy of the filibuster-proof 60-member majority in the Senate. The final seats could come if strong challenges shape up in West Virginia, New Jersey, Washington state, Minnesota and Maryland. And, with Obama this far behind, they probably will.

Wish his daddy had.
You’re quick.
Bill Clinton just came out 180 against Obama’s tax increase.
I think there is a chance Hillary may be running.
Among the things the GOP should be discussing now is elimination of the 60 vote cloture rule in the 2013 Senate. It’s absurd, extra-Constitutional and will impede the very real reform necessary to pare back the federal bureaucracy.
That’s it. Close the thread. There CANNOT possibly be a better reply.
Thank You!
My thought EXACTLY.
Let’s hope he crawls away. But I think his head is too big to
do it. He now thinks he owns the planet.
Hmmmm....I seem to remember his approval being somewhere in the 90's.
Agreed!!! Wham-o!
Of course it’s still up to his handlers. They will however(sine he is (resident of the moment) I’m sure they will have to use kid gloves and LOTS of promises.
Too bad his mommy made the wrong “choice”.....
She should have resigned as Sec State before all the crap hit the fan. She is Obama's lap dog. She is stained with the broad brush of failure.
I think Evan Bayh would be the best bet for the Democrats. They need someone who isn't part of this administration and someone who looks as good on TV as Romney and Perry.
If Obama does indeed bow out, I’m hoping it turns out like ‘68, where neither of the truly electable challengers ends up the nominee, and, instead it ends up being VP Biden...who will lose so badly he’ll feel physical pain from it.
Hillary could win. It wouldn’t be easy even for her, but her chances are better than O’bummers.
You stole my thunder!!! LMAO! ;-)
I have been suggesting for a while now that he’ll pull a Lautenberg when the polls show that all hope is gone (around convention time), he’ll claim that he’s doing it “for the country and for his family”. In comes Hillary the Heroine to save the day/sarc
There’s no chance an ego like Obama would not run.
There’s no chance the Democrats will mount any primary challengers. They have no history of standing up to black liberals. Their decades of patronizing won’t allow it.
LOL! Me too.......
“Particularly if the Republicans nominate a more moderate candidate such as Mitt Romney, Obama will not be able to rely on partisan animosity to succeed where job approval has failed.”
Dick Morris liberal to the core......
.
.
!? POTUS INTERRUPTUS !?
.
.
"Pull out, Nixon, like your father should have done."
just a data point. i saw a gallup poll that put it at 84%.
now, that is very high.
But remember, he won with 96%. so obama has actually suffered a loss of 12% among african americans, that is, if you compare his polling numbers with his voting percentage.....
Yes, and Hilary would be a continuing disaster. Also thank you idiot republicans for praising Hilary in an effort to get the womens’ vote last time.
>>> Dick Morris : Obama Might Pull Out
How can this be?
Listen to Obama, none (absolutely nothing) of the woes foreign or domestic the country’s facing right now is his doing. If he’s not to blame, how can he then not run for another term (to finish what he started)?
His ego might want to run, but WHO will follow him? Remember people who run political campaigns want other jobs and career(s) after the election, too. Who wants to be associated with a lame duck president and failed re-election bid?
I think Obama is just too far out of it, to voluntarily withdraw. It took him three years to cough up a $14 birth certificate. He refused to do so before the mid term elections when like 58% of the country had some degree of doubt where he was born and the Democrats needed every vote they could find.
It was only when Donald Trump drew attention to the issue and the MSM kind of started asking, “Gee, why doesn’t he just cough it up and resolve this” that Obama coughed it up. Obama is just such a narcissist that he doesn’t care how his problems affect other people and his staff and the Obots are just a bunch of little kids playing office.
Sooo, I don’t think Obama will withdraw unless the Democrats mount a serious primary challenge and beat him out of the nomination. But that isn’t going to happen either because the Democrats are like people who are in jail, and the judge says they can get out after four years or stay four more years after that, whichever they want. And the Democrats decide to stay in jail.
When do you think Hillary has to announce?
Isn’t it getting pretty late???
I think she has to move NOW...at the very latest by the end of October.
Aren’t we better off if Obama goes down hard and takes all ‘Rats with him on his reverse coat tails?
I do not agree that Hillary could win. She was his Sec. of State. She carries the baggage of all his failed policies including healthcare, to which she was a big supporter. Voters now want nothing to do with Obama or democrats in general.
That’s what I saw, his voting percentage amongst blacks at 96%. Thanks for the clarification.
I read that BEFORE WeinerGate Weiner was going to challenge Obama.look where Weiner is now. He is finito politically.I don’t think anybody but Hillary could run against him but he would smear her HARD as it is not so easy for him this time.
Yeah!!!! /sarcasm
Exactly!! The 80% is crap, try 91% !!!...

Pull out? Heh. You’ll be lucky if you get a reacharound.
Hillary! Hillary! Hillary! Hillary! Hillary! Hillary!
Hillary! Hillary! Hillary! Hillary! Hillary! Hillary!Hillary! Hillary! Hillary! Hillary! Hillary! Hillary!Hillary! Hillary! Hillary! Hillary! Hillary! Hillary!
Have a care what you wish for!!
First Couple Get Flirty at DNC Fundraiser (BHO: Did you notice how shes getting cuter?)
ABC News ^ | September 21, 2011 | Devin Dwyer
EXCERPT
President Obama returned the compliment, asking the crowd upon taking the stage, Did you notice how shes getting cuter?
She is remarkable, and it is the reason that Ive got remarkable kids, he said. I have improved my gene pool. And it is true, this is the closest we get to a date which Im going to have to fix in about 14 months.
Dick:
You’re still a d*ck.
No way Casey looses in PA
Morris is good for looking into the dark heart of all that is Clinton. Other than that I'll take my political advise from a chimp with a dartboard.

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton (R) shakes hands with EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton during a bilateral meeting in New York September 18, 2011.
Black turnout will be down 20% next year. The young voters are disillusioned with Obama and will maybe listen to their parents this time.
Yep. 20 years ago, it was called HillaryCare.
History tells us when Dick Morris makes a prediction...the 180 degree opposite will actually happen. He has long jumped the shark...
Dictatorus interruptus, huh? Power is the one thing they’ll never willingly give up.
Morris is over-the-top fairly often, and this is one of those times.
He is trying to get people to his website or to his book sales.
“Can someone tell me when Dick Morris was last relevant?”
Well,,,, He loves to toe the Party line.
