Brownback endorses Perry for president

Gov. Sam Brownback endorsed Texas Gov. Rick Perry for president on Thursday, citing Perry's record on creating jobs and reducing taxes.

"Rick Perry is the right leader for this moment in history," he said in a prepared statement.

"I think he's really got the right message that it's about jobs, it's about job creation and it's about getting the atmosphere right," Brownback said. "They've maintained and created a very positive, growth-oriented atmosphere in Texas that we've got to get back to in the United States."

Perry's campaign issued a statement calling Brownback "one of the most respected voices for conservatism in the country." Perry noted Brownback's record in Congress as a fiscal conservative who pushed for lower taxes and balanced federal budget.

"It's great to have his support," Perry said. "I'm glad that he trusts me to get the job done as the next president."

Perry has a record of low taxes, low regulation, creating a business-friendly climate in Texas which creates JOBS. That is what counts, not the attacks of moderators and competitors, who have NO RECORD to run on, so they resort to attacks and smears, doing Obama's job for him.

As Michelle Malkin pointed out, this means that one DREAM Act supporting “Republican” is endorsing a DREAM Act signing “Republican.”

This is old news. I bet after tonight’s Debate, he wishes he’d held off on that endorsement. Perry is done; put a fork in him. 60% of the people on the FOX Focus Group who came in tonight for Perry, switched to Romney after the Debate. I’m a Texan and Perry has embarrassed our Great State in the last 3 Debates. Dude just doesn’t have it.

Oh PLEASE! Rick Perry destroyed himself in the last 3 Debates. Tonight was the final straw. Now, lay down the crack pipe.....

After tonight's debate Brownback will probably withdraw his endorsement.

That's right. Brownback is pro-amnesty.

Perry also has a $10 billion shortfall facing him next year:

Creating an ideal climate for illeagals is expensive.

And in a related story, the editorial staff at “The Onion” has just awarded Gov Brownback it’s coveted “Great Timing There, Zippy!” award.

I like a lot about Perry but he sucks at debating and he jumped the shark with me when he called people who disagree with him on illegal educational freebies “people with no heart”

Pretty sure it wasn't moderators and competitors controlling what comes out of Perry's own mouth in the debates.

He's dead, Jim.
Shut 'er down, Clancy, she's pumping mud!
THIS IS AN EX-PARROT!

Perry moved from top 3 choices to bottom 3 choices for me. Maybe even dead last. Even Romney did better on illegals.

Apparently Perry considers me to be one of the heartless conservatives that doesn’t want to spend our tax dollars buying nice things for illegals that our own citizens can barely afford.

Yes Perry has a good record o jobs, yes he has good record on taxes, yes he has good record on reducing burdensome regulations.

However as a “legal” immigrant I will not support Perry in primaries based on his refusal to build a wall and give in-state tuition to illegal immigrants. Both are definite magnets for more illegals to flood in.

The two Ricks are still the strongest pro-life candidates, and only one of them is electable. Romney had better prep for his defense of the abortion provisions in MittCare; it hasn’t touched him yet for some reason.

I’m new here.Been a long time lurker. It seems to me..you believe everybody here is on “crack” but you? Perry is NOT out of the race..he’s not dead and he’s very much alive.I’m willing to bet you were like a snake tonight just waiting to pounce on Perry.

Romney looked like a limp noodle compared to Perry..get over yourself, this race is still early.

Amnesty? So Brownback and Perry are for making the 12-14 million illegals automatically legal, like Reagan did to the 3 million back in the 80's? I think that is not true.

Do they think about a path to citizenship? Yeah, probably, like Palin and everyone else except Santorum and Bachmann who are not serious.

It's too bad Perry is being unfairly hammered on this issue although I don't like the "no heart" comment either, but it is clear he understands the issue, unlike Bachman or Santorum.

The Texas overwhelmingly Republican legislature had 4 dissents on allowing children of illegals, and with any other immigration status, who were living in Texas for 3 years of highschool and working toward their citizenship to receive the same in state tuition as their classmates. Perry could do nothing even if he wanted to, which he probably didn't.

Texas has spent 400 million of it's own tax dollars to secure the U.S. Mexico border. Not Minnesota tax dollars, not Pennsylvania tax dollars, Texans tax dollars to secure the U.S. border. Texas is dealing with this issue the best they can and Perry's actions make sense.

Bachman, Santorum and anyone else who says they will build a 2,000 mile fence, cede the Rio Grand to Mexico, cut off natural wildlife crossing in Big Bend National Park as well as destroying a majestic wonder that is Big Bend, s lying through their teeth for votes. Anyone who says they will deport 12 million illegals is also lying.

Sarah Palin herself said she was for a path to citizenship and that deporting illegals would be inhumane.

What is the hurry to get on board with someone I just do not understand it. It seems to me no votes have been cast as yet.
