Pres. Reagan would have NOTHING to do with these RINOs.

Perry ===> PerryCARE 1 [Gardasil Mandate]

Perry ===> PerryCARE 2 [Healthcare for Mexicans]

Romney ====> RomneyCARE =====> ObamaCARE

or socialism on people has been by way of medicine..."

Just wish Perry would go on offense by articulating his positions on these issues, instead of just playing defense!

Unfortunately (for him) he did just that last night.

Romney is a “slicky boy” to many independents as well as Pubbies....another “teleprompter slave”. Romney grew up with a silver spoon in his glib mouth...Perry grew up going outside to an outhouse...and wiping his butt on a Sears and Roebuck Catalog....and as one who did the some....God forbid that you used the slick pages in summer....although Rick living in West Texas didn’t get flying lessons as early as I did....because living on a farm in Illinois in the winter and going to the outhouse in the winter and scrapping off a few inches of snow before you set down....you did a “touch and go”....not that much snow in Paint Creek, TX.

Keep posting pictures of his awesome hair. Maybe it will make us believe he is actually conservative!

And don't forget Rep Charlie Wilson, a dem from east Texas who took care of funding the anti-Soviet resistance during Reagan's term. Wilson was a true-blue patriot who supported Reagan in defeating the Soviets. The story is told in Charley Wilson's War. There used to be patriotic democrats with conservative leanings, as hard as that is to believe now.

good post ... I’m still for Perry. I live in Texas and Perry has forgotten more about Mexicans and border issues than Romney, Santorum, et al ever knew.

It’s easy to just give some lofty pronouncement, but it is a complicated situation.

Perry does not have as bad a record as has been alleged.

He’s right about the fence.

And that law allowing children of illegals to attend Texas schools at in-state rate ... well, that was passed in 2000 when people felt far differently about the situation than they do today. It was passed with only 4 negative votes and would have over-ridden a governor’s veto had he chosen to veto it.

It probably wouldn’t be passed today and Rick probably wishes it had never been passed.

The point is that certain requirements have to be met and it is certainly not tuition free. Texas colleges are as high as anywhere.

But an Oklahoma student can go to OU for in state rates. Likewise residents of every other state.

“Last night proved that Perry cannot think on his feet, nor, apparently flat on his back at 3AAM either. My sincere condolences to Perry supporters”

Fine by me. I think the perrywinkles have moved over to the La Raza website. It’s a friendlier environment over there, than here on FR... you know... with his “dream act” successes and all.

If Rick Perry had regrets about signing that “Texas Dream Act” law, then he had the perfect opportunity to repeal it in the last Texas Legislative session that ended in the spring.

But did he???.... No.

He needs to go talk to the parents of all the kids from suburban districts that have to work thier azzes off to get in the top 10% competing with the Indian kids who’s parents skated in here on H1B visas, further taking up jobs that Americans should have.

And can you tell me what’s fair about an illegal Mexican kid who graduates in the top 10% of his ghetto high school class with a 3.5 GPA and gets an automatic admission to UT or Texas A&M (by the top 10% rule)... who then takes a spot that should go to some native kid from an uber competitive suburban district, who took all AP courses, got a 4.0 GPA and graduated in the top 20% of his class!!

I am sick of seeing smart native Texan kids having to go out of state to college because we’re “obligated” to educate the spawn of 1.5 million invaders from Me-hee-co and India.

Indeed, he does. [The Reagan Dems were extremely disappointed in Carter.]

Hello Cin,

Remember me? It's been a long time since we last communicated here.

Perry is my choice, even after last night's debate. He is for state's rights, and against the federal government in your life. I love that he says he will make the government as inconsequential to our lives as he possibly can.

Perry declared he was for Mexican rights over US taxpayers’
rights.

Perry ended his candidacy for millions last night.

Too bad. What a shame. He should have not got drunk
and instead focused on Romney-the-Magic-RINO.

Perry REALLY needs to have a good debate coach--I think his ideas are good, but boy has he come off poorly in these debates.

Perry can speak well when he wants to. In fact, his debate performances aren't bad from start to finish; he's started out OK each time, but about half-way through each debate he gets thrown off his game and can't express a coherent thought. It's like something spooks him about the whole debate format.

The only thing similar to this I can remember is watching Palin during the Couric and Gibson interviews. I couldn't reconcile Sarah's record as governor and her barn-burner speech from the convention with the stammering female trying to answer questions like, "What do you read?" (Admittedly the interviews were edited to put Palin in the worst possible light, but even with the edits replaced she didn't sound great).

I don't think Perry is a natural when it comes to debates. He doesn't seem to take them seriously. On balance he's a fairly successful governor of an important state. He probabably thinks that his lengthy and fairly positive record speaks for itself. Maybe he considers these debates mere "yack sessions" that distract from real campaigning.

He's great one-on-one and in small groups. How many presidential candidates would chat with Freeper AnnaZ about the Tea Party? Furthermore, here are some remarks about the feds and immigration Perry made in Midland last year.

He can speak well when he wants to, both before small audiences (as in the clips) or large ones (as at The Response). Wish he could translate those skills into a respectable debate performance!

Good to know Constitutiona1st.

His support is dropping faster than college girl panties at a spring break pool party.

You can say that, but until the poll results come out next week, no one knows.

If the poll numbers don't drop, or not drop much, will you eat your words and say you were wrong?

(now that I've posted to you, I can remember to ping you on this next week)

Perry ended his candidacy for millions last night.

And if he doesn't implode... are you going to apologize? You are on record as saying that the third debate ended his chances. So, the poll numbers for next week will be in a tailspin.

If they aren't...

Well, should have said -perhaps - "cannot take ALL the Democrat out. And of course, I said Democrat, and not 'Liberal'.

Know 'Conservatism runs deep in Texas. Have only to think of another Democrat from Texas, so well known - if not notorious - by just his initials. LBJ was no Liberal, either.
