Obama urges black community to 'march with me' (Whites need not apply)
cnn ^ | September 24, 2011 | By Athena Jones

While acknowledging the hard-hit black community and budding criticisms in its ranks, President Barack Obama said in a speech Saturday night to the Congressional Black Caucus that he wouldn't give up -- and urged members of the black community to join him to jump-start the still-sluggish economy.

"I expect all of you to march with me, and press on," Obama said. "... Stop complaining, stop grumbling, stop crying. We are going to press on. We've got work to do."

The unemployment rate among African-Americans is 16.7%, nearly double the national average, while 40% of black children live in poverty. Such facts have made fiscal reforms a priority for caucus members, some of whom -- most of them Democrats -- have criticized Obama for not doing enough on the issue.

They include Rep. Maxine Waters, D-California, who at a caucus "jobs' tour town hall" in Detroit this month described the unemployment rate among blacks "unconscionable." She said the strategy to fix it was unclear, adding that the caucus was "getting tired" of waiting for one.

She questioned the president's decision to focus on the Midwest during a three-day jobs bus tour in August, stating that the 3 million who live in Iowa -- and are mostly white -- are roughly equal in number to the African-Americans who are out of work. She suggested that Obama's administration seemed more keen to focus on that politically important state than on the black community.

"Are the unemployed in the African-American community, including almost 45% of its youth, as important as the people of Iowa?" she asked in the statement she released ahead of the president's speech before a joint session of Congress in which he announced his jobs plan.

I guarentee you that after this fiasco of a president, no man of color will be elected to that office for at least a half-century.

As he runs his mouth, this clown reminds me more and more of the old, demagogic Southern Dixiecrat “seg” politicians we used to laugh at when I was a kid.

Different color scheme, same bigotry and ugliness.

I tell you another one, I am getting sick of:

..Ok, you did not vote against Obama because of overt racism. You don’t support Barak because of unconscious racism.../SARC

No, you brainless twits who watch PMSNBC and the Daily Show and may have accidentally googled this post by accident. We conservatives don’t like Obama because he is a bad president...you are the ones who always obsess over race. Stop projecting you hang-ups on us!

The reasons for the Civil War is seperate but linked.
The South felt they had the right to have slaves. They also felt the fed government had no say in what states did.
Also the South felt they were getting the short end of the stick on Taxes.
The reasons for that Civil War can be seen today. This government is doing things to day that can cause another conflict.
The western states are seeing EPA and other arms of the FEDGOV attacking land rights.
North Carolina is being told that a company cant move there because NC is a right to work state.
And now we have the ultimate thug. Obama. This man is seriously demented. His hatred seems to part of his DNA. You can tell by his choice of friends and cabinet members. Even his mate is part of it.
Obama hates white Christians and conservative Jews. He also hates people who produce wealth. He thinks that hard work alone cannot create success.
And if the GOP picks another RINO.....we will be on the road to total destruction.

Yeah they’re going to march with him, all of them, right over a cliff.

They DON’T care, though — many would follow him to their deaths rather than to behave well and fit into a civilized society.

Don’t see too many black businesses creating jobs. Maybe Obama should tax them more.

He was crazed up that podium. I just saw a clip of him. He looked like the two-bit street agitator that he always was. He sure was good - put on his best “black” street accent. Sure didn’t look presidential.

If Cain had a “D” by his name the black community would be praising him.

A (D) who told the community that the way to succeed was to study and work hard would be run out of the party. Look up how Bill Cosby was treated when he went that route.

I hope folks aren’t pushing Cain because they have a feeling that it would be difficult to bounce the first black POTUS.

Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign strategy - Us and Them.

The only problem for poor Barry, the number of Us’ are dwindling significantly. He better stay home and play b-ball with Reggie Glove...

Cain is the guy who can lead blacks to the Republican, conservative party. The more I think about him as President, the more I like the thoughts.

Will blacks never wake up?

Haven't any of them figured out that no matter who is in The White House or what the makeup of Congress is, they always remain mired in poverty while their local elected officials continue to live high on the hog?
