Skip to comments.VIDEO: Black Panther Threatens Student Activist for Passing Out Constitutions
Posted on 09/26/2011 9:06:31 AM PDT by oliverdarcy
Are students that promote the black panther ideology and the Office of Diversity in league together at the University of Minnesota - Duluth (UMD)?
It would would appear so in the video below. The events took place last week as one young man, Phil Cleary, handed out pocket Constitutions on campus in honor of Constitution Day. He had a table with literature promoting Youth for Western Civilization, a group dedicated to traditional values and western civilization, and engaged in students and faculty passing by.
Then, the leftists showed up to heckle.
The young man in the video, Blair Jordon Moses, threatened to "exercise" his 2nd amendment rights if he perceived that there was any kind of threat to the Multicultural Center. He did not define what a threat would constitute but suggested that the existence of the group Youth for Western Civilization would count.
Blair was wearing a pin on his jacket picturing Huey P. Newton carying a gun. For those of you who don't know, Newton was a founder of the Black Panthers. The Black Panthers is a violent and ethnocentric organization that promotes racial divides and anti-American rhetoric.

Just another one of Holder’s people.
I’m wondering why the university is bringing gang members on campus.
Looks like just a regular old multicultural college experience. This is how it usually goes these days, I thought?
If the Black Panthers ever had to face a real militia, they’d slink away with their pussy cat tails tucked between their legs.
Thanks for the post.
I wish more Freepers joined/subscribed-to the orgs/newletters/blogs dedicated to exposing the assault on our Liberty that is a rampant virus, and standard operating process, on most of our college campuses.
It is one thing to simply know and understand this kind of thing is going on.
But, arguments against this kind of thing are most effective when facts are used; when you have the facts. That only takes place by being informed.
There are none so ignorant as college-age kids. Yes, even those on our side.
Yeah....like here. LOL! This vid is epic!
If the Black Panthers ever face a real militia, they will be leaving in rubber bags.
Here is the punk’s Facebook page-charming..
“BOO! BOOOOO! BOOOOOOOOOOOO!”
That was my reaction, too. Don’t these kids have homework? Bong loads? Case of Pabst Blue Ribbon? Reruns of the Man show? Something?
Duluth is a pretty liberal town — lotta union contamination there — but I doubt the Black Panthers would get much support if they started beating up white kids from the suburbs.
Time for the Department of Just Us to intervene to protect the poor NBP people from this kind of racism. Everyone knows that the authors of the Constitution were all slave-holders and that the Constitution was drawn up purely to enshrine this racism.
The Black Panther supporter was almost as physically intimidating as Barack Obama himself...
Hope Phil’s response was:
Ping to watch later
“The Black Panther supporter was almost as physically intimidating as Barack Obama himself...”
Those creepy purple fingers kind of scare me.
The Constitution is no good, says a Black Panther who is ironically threatening a Conservative student “to use his Second Amendment Right” because the student is distributing copies of the Constitution on Constitution Day.
I thought Black Panther said that the Constitution is no good. He denied the threat in the next breath!
Its the obvious continued intimidation “training” for Communists, labor, Black Panthers and H0lder’s people flash mobs to get ready when the time comes. I believe summer ‘12 would be their timeline.
“If the Black Panthers ever face a real militia, they will be leaving in rubber bags.”
I wouldn’t mind seeing shabazz, or whatever his name is, in one now.
No threat. Just an idiot.
Never argue with a fool, people won’t be able to tell you apart.
Alinsky them back!
Well back in the 60’s they had other things to do, like killing cops and the odd bystander or two.
I grew up in the Bay Area in the 60s & 70s. Those Black Panthers were the real deal...these guys are wannabees.
You'll never see them around voting precincts or campuses in Texas.
The black kid in this video looks like all bluff, no cards to me.
Who would expect a black man to be named “Blair”? Now, “Herman” I can understand.
I'll second that. Maybe part of it is that his ancestry appears to be more white than black, and his speech pattern is not ghetto dialect.
But what's concerning is the presence of radicals like him and his supporters in Duluth, Minnesota, of all places. This, after all, is not Detroit or Chicago.
The presence of a supportive "Office of Diversity" on a a campus of a state university reflects negatively on the left-leaning state government of Minnesota that has been present for decades, including erstwhile presidential candidate and two-term former governor Tim Pawlenty.
When a state supreme court sanctions the vote counting fraud that put Al Franken in the Senate, it sends a message that filters down to radicals on campus that just about any behavior in the name of advancing their cause is perfectly legal and acceptable.
I would think any college town is going to have its scruffy Marxists and dorm-room radicals. I realize it can and has gotten serious at times. I’m just saying. Some of this is just idiots being idiots.
"Unavailable" when I looked.
Maybe this is because I don't do Facebook? But when people like this suddenly gain notoriety, these things have a way of disappearing. So when people thing to recommend a page like this it's probably a good idea to do a screen capture so the rest of us can see it too.
“If the Black Panthers ever had to face a real militia, theyd slink away with their pussy cat tails tucked between their legs.” 100% agreement. Don’t forget to factor in the multiple generations of U.S. military veterans who have very meaningful capabilities.
The little weeny backed down when he saw his attempt at thuggery (which usually all he has to do is where his little button to intimidate) wasn’t working on ‘whitey.’
He’s as pathetic as some little white suburbanite pretending to be gangsta with his yuppie glasses.

Lots of black folks in Duluth now. Mostly from Gary In.
Fairly snarky article about the incident in the Duluth paper today - FWIW:
Interesting factoid - the filmer does not go to UMD
Gustavus Adolphus College student Phil Cleary was on campus outside Kirby Student Center representing Youth for Western Civilization and the Leadership Institute on Sept. 16 in observance of Constitution Day.
Black Panther Supporter Warns Conservative Student: I Could Exercise My 2nd Amendment Right on You
Heres the irony about the Constitution: it doesnt matter if you believe in it or fully accept it, it still protects you. Thats the case with one Black Panther supporter at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. During an exchange with a Constitution-loving student on campus on Sept. 16, the Black Panther supporter said that he could exercise his 2nd Amendment right against his fellow student while also admitting later that he doesnt actually believe in the Constitution.
It all happened while Phil Cleary was passing out Constitutions in honor of Constitution Day. Campusreform.org (which calls Cleary a conservative) reports he had a table of literature promoting Western Civilization (and his group Youth for Western Civilization) and was engaging students and faculty on the topic. While doing that he had conversation with someone the site identifies as Blair Jordan Moses, the young man with a soft spot for the Black Panthers.
And Cleary got it on video.
According to the video, the supporter tells Cleary that the 2nd Amendment could come in handy if Clearly ever threatened the campus multicultural center. What would constitute a threat? He never truly defines it, but suggested that the existence of the group Youth for Western Civilization would count, according to Campusreform.org.
"I could exercise my 2nd amendment right on you.
Obviously the Second amendment doesn't give you the right to shoot someone.
I’ve been meaning to make it up to Duluth. Sounds like as good an excuse as any...
Official University of Minnesota statement on the incident:
Statement Regarding Recent Incident on University of Minnesota Duluth Campus
MINNEAPOLIS / ST. PAUL (09/27/2011) Freedom of expression, fostering diverse views and opinions, and promoting civil debate are core to our democracy, and are an important part of the tradition of this countrys public universities and of the University of Minnesota. Freedom of speech on campus is a fundamental tenet of the University of Minnesota, as is a strong commitment to equity and diversity, and to ensuring a safe and civil campus community.
The organization Youth for Western Civilization (YWC) has produced a video that provides edited excerpts of a conversation that took place on Sept. 16, 2011. The exchanges are between a representative from YWC (who is not affiliated with the University of Minnesota), a student from the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD), and a UMD staff member. The conversation took place amid the annual Taste of Kirby event in recognition of Constitution Day during which numerous student organizations and outside groups distribute literature. The exchange took place outside UMDs Kirby Student Center. Because the entirety of the video recorded that day has not been shared with us, it would be imprudent to jump to conclusions about the full exchange between the parties portrayed in the edited video that has been made public.
We have discussed the matter with the UMD staff person in the video and it is our understanding that her comment was based on materials being displayed by YWC which werent made available to her or to the University. Conversations are continuing with involved parties and we are confident that all are committed to the University of Minnesotas values of civility, free speech, and diversity.
No complaints about threats or violence were made to the UMD Police at the time of the incident. One complaint was made on Sept. 27, 2011, after the videotape was made public. Upon review of the video, St. Louis County Attorney representatives determined there is no basis for charges or additional investigation.
The University of Minnesota will continue to foster a culture of open, engaged, and respectful discourse.
Why isn’t this person being charged with harassment or bullying or terroristic threats?
I also recall the original BP Party. They were hardened revolutionaries who proved to be a menace to society. They ended up being hunted down and either killed or locked up by the police and FBI until they faded away. History will repeat itself if they keep their BS up.
“The Constitution is no good, says a Black Panther who is ironically threatening a Conservative student to use his Second Amendment Right...”
You got that right.
“Black Panthers”???...just a bunch of punk-ass chumps that can’t keep their pants up. They’re lucky they didn’t get their asses beat.
The people of that neighborhood stood together, and ran the thugs out of the neighborhood. This is what needs to happen everytime these walking gutter trash show up.
When I watched the whole vid, I noticed he “believes in the 2nd” but DOESN’T believe in the Constitution. What a utter dumbass.
Gee....doesn’t that constitute a “terroristic threat”????
This gutter chump is clearly threatening a student that has done nothing to him...where’s the police?
It could also be a “hate crime” because the “black panther” (what a joke) is threatening another person of a differnt ethnicity...oh..wait...I forgot...it can’t be a hate crime, because the victim is white...
