Anonymous Goes After the Pepper Spray Cop's Personal Info
The Atlantic Wire ^ | 9/26/11 | Adam Martin

Posted on 09/27/2011 7:59:09 AM PDT by Wilderness Conservative

The police officer videoed spraying what appears to be pepper spray into the eyes of peaceful protesters in New York City on Saturday has found Internet fame as online activists target him in traditional hacker fashion: By releasing all his personal and professional data online in an attack known as a dox. The last few months have seen the online activism of Anonymous moving into the real world with direct actions like the Op-BART demonstrations in San Francisco and the ongoing Occupy Wall Street protest in New York. The spread of this video blurs the line between online and real-world activism once more as the wider digital population of Anonymous targets the officer for retaliation by going after his data, his identity, and his job in a classic bit of hactivism.

A very good reason NOT to post ANY personal or biographical information on sites like Facebook. Anyone who does is guaranteed to have that information get into his/her worst enemy’s hands at the worst possible time and have it used for the worst possible purposes.

Sadistic, lawless thug cops are far more dangerous than crying whining pseudo-hippies, even ones who are supposedly trying to bring down the economic system of the US.

This is happening to cops today. It could be one of us tomorrow. I wouldn’t put it past the opposition to use this tactic when they are in power.

Law-abiding demonstrators staying behind the police barriers.

Demonstrating against the Wall Street machers who HAVE brought down the US economy.

Pepper-sprayed by a sadistic, uncontrolled, power-mad thuggish excuse for a police officer.

What will you say when he shows up at an anti-abortion sidewalk Rosary or Tea Party rally?

So, spraying pepper spray into the eyes of people you disagree with is perfectly legal and tolerable? If the cops can spray pepper spray into the eyes of hippies, then they can do it to us when we protest Obama.

If this scene happened, as described; I'd be for filing Felony assault charges on this officer, firing him, and throwing him in jail with the other lawless offenders. Officers are not above the law, just because they have a badge and a gun does not allow them the 'right' to be sadistic thugs - and that is exactly what this officer apppears to be; a coward hiding behind a badge.

People are going to get tired of feeding and cleaning up after them. Eventually, they'll have to go home and get their food stamps and taxpayer comforts.
If they stay too long, they're going to end up homeless beggars like the hippies of the '60's.

It has happened to people like us.

Those who opposed gay marriage in Kalipornia had their names and addresses made public. Those who had gun permits in some states have their names and info published in some newspapers.

They have and will use these tactics on their enemies.

Here in Michigan the idiot teachers union plans to “Take over Michigan” by camping on the lawn of the state capitol.

January and February should be a real treat. LOL

Funny thing is that the false outrage from the teachers has guaranteed the end of their union in less than a year. Just the other day, the house voted to end automatic dues deductions from school paychecks and a “right to teach” law is accepted as a done deal by all sides.

I agree. But I think the larger question is whether or not it is a positive development that people are now taking it upon themselves to destroy lives without due process.

They are in the marked-off area behind the barriers to keep them from blocking sidewalks. The Wall Street traders and bankers can still get to work.

The demonstrators are exercising their First Amendment rights. You think they should do it in a parking lot in Secaucus?

Here is one cop who doesn’t like the demonstrators. But who do you think our messianic leader, and his Director of Homeland Security, and his Attorney General like better, you Right Winger poster on Free Republic, or those demonstrators?

Perhaps this is happening because no charges have been filed - and the officer has gotten off scott-free. A Sadistic delight first for inflicting pain on helpless protesters, another sadistic charge knowing that if the protesters had dared stike him, they would be charged with 'Assaulting an Officer' and finally a huge sadistic charge for getting away with this act.

I think Anynomyous is simply sending a message - this cop is a coward, if it weren't for his badge he would have been badly beaten for his actions. Now, his cowardice is up for all to see, he can live in paranoia wondering when someone is going to attack him at home. If he were being investigated and charged - this would be wrong; but if the police won't protect the innocent from corrupt and sadistic members of their force; who will?

I see no legitimate law enforcement purpose furthered by the cops action. It may provide a positive visceral joy for those of us opposed to the moronic protestors but this cop was just playing out a sadistic impulse. I truly hope his personal life is disrupted to a degree necessary for him to learn to get his emotions under control. He’s a thug with a badge.

It shouldn't be surprising considering that the pathetic marxist trash spend a lot of time talking about what has been "stolen" from them but never get around to explaining how they earned money for Wall street to steal.

So? Why should government employees operate in secret? They should feel heat to help ensure their actions are legit. That is the purpose of the Second Amendment; to apply pressure to govement. Let their identities be known and their actions accounted for. We used to tar and feather government officials that acted out. A little more of that and maybe our government might get back into control.

Your points are well taken, but do you really believe the solution to rogue law enforcement is the public targeting of anyone related to the violator? That's scary stuff. That's medieval. No thanks.

Yeah. There's a lot more to this story. Why would the police film the incident themselves, and let it go public if they were just being mean to the innocent, born without blemish, protesting "victims"?

I agree whole-heartedly. These are useful idiots, who have no clue as to what they are saying or doing.

But, NO ONE has the right to spray Pepper Spray into their eyes, and hide behind a badge while he does it. That is a sadistic coward; who need to be fired, charged with assault and thrown in jail for being a thug. If the cops can freely spray Pepper Spray (Mace) into anyone's eyes, for any reason - the police force is nothing more than a protecte class of armed sadists. I'm consistent - if they did this to Freepers, I'd be just as outraged as when they are doing this to some dirty hippies.

Now, if these protesters had crossed police lines, if they were resisting arrest, if they were attacking - that would be different. But the video shows them peacefully protesting, in an area where their protest was perfectly legal. If these thugs can do it to a bunch of dirty hippies; they can do it to us.

CURRENT COMMUNIST GOALS:
As Ordered - Composed in 1950′s by Joseph Stalin For the Destruction of America From the Inside.
Published in the Congressional Record, January 10, 1963.
Appendix pages A34 & A35

Joseph Stalin: "America is like a healthy body and its resistance is threefold: its patriotism, its morality, and its spiritual life. If we can undermine these three areas, America will collapse from within."

-------------

42) "Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use united force to solve economic, political or social problems."

Now, if these protesters had crossed police lines, if they were resisting arrest, if they were attacking - that would be different.

Paul J. Browne, the Police Department’s chief spokesman, said in a statement, “There were approximately 80 arrests, mainly for disorderly conduct by individuals who blocked vehicular and pedestrian traffic, but also for resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration and, in one instance, for assault on a police officer.”

That's the carefully avoided question.

It reminds me of the rescued Italian journalist who was wounded by American troops in Iraq when her driver tried to run through a checkpoint. She spent months bashing the Americans who wanted her dead but didn't explain why her "assasins" wounded her, treated her and flew her home.

Sorry, not enough info for me to make a judgment call. I could not see the first lady that got hit with the spray, so I have no idea what she was doing. The video points out a women with shoulder length hair stretching out her hand, but it was a woman with short hair on the other side of the “outstretched hand” woman that got hit first.

Then use your Pepper spray on THOSE people.

Just because one group of idiots crosses the line - does not give the police authority to open fire on everyone.

C’mon, it’s pretty simple stuff. You are defending the indefensible - now if you like thug-life; don’t whine if someone walks up to you and sprays Mace in your face if you are peacefully demonstrating against Obama/Healthcare/Stimulus/Tax Increases/ect.

The funny thing about ‘laws’ is that they apply to everyone; whether you like them, or agree with them, or not. It’s called the ‘Equal Protection’ clause.
