As a way to solve the national debt crisis, North Carolina Democratic Gov. Beverly Perdue recommends suspending Congressional elections for the next couple of years.
“I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won’t hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover,” Perdue said at a rotary club event in Cary, North Carolina, according to the Raleigh News and Observer. “I really hope that someone can agree with me on that.”
Perdue said she thinks that temporarily halting elections would allow members of Congress to focus on the economy. “You have to have more ability from Congress, I think, to work together and to get over the partisan bickering and focus on fixing things,” Perdue said.
North Carolina Republicans immediately scoffed at Perdue’s proposal, pointing out to her that elections hold politicians accountable for their actions. “Now is a time when politicians need to be held accountable more than ever,” North Carolina GOP spokesman Rob Lockwood said in an email to The Daily Caller. “To suspend an election would be removing the surest mechanism that citizens have to hold politicians accountable: The right to vote.”

Perdue’s press secretary, Chris Mackey, claims the Governor was joking when she made the comment.
“Come on…Gov. Perdue was obviously using hyperbole to highlight what we can all agree is a serious problem: Washington politicians who focus on their own election instead of what’s best for the people they serve,” Mackey said in an email to TheDC.
Ok, so there IS a governor more stupid than Connecticut’s Malloy or California’s Brown.
I’d drum her out of office for this one...if this is indeed a trial balloon, then Obama needs to know that this is NOT an option.

OBAMA is certainly guilty of TREASON.
Under Article III, Section 3, of the Constitution, any person who levies war against the United States or adheres to its enemies by giving them Aid and Comfort has committed treason within the meaning of the Constitution. The term aid and comfort refers to any act that manifests a betrayal of allegiance to the United States,
such as furnishing enemies with arms, troops, transportation, shelter, or classified information.
If a subversive act has any tendency to weaken the power of the United States to attack or resist its enemies, aid and comfort has been given.

You know, I have read on various liberals websites, that they suspected that a Republican would do such a thing. I always thought it was such a paranoid thing, such silliness. But now I see WHY they think Republicans might do it, because in their hearts, it is THEY who want to do such things. Such transference is really a hallmark of Liberalism.
Now the Rat governor says she was just joking, i.e., hyperbole. Yeah, right. She didn’t like the reaction to what she said. Can you say backpedaling?

The Repubs (but not Conservatives) always underestimate the one talent the Dems have -— their goosestepping coordination of talking points and their selection of one or two useful idiots to set off a trial balloon to get an idea floating out there in the ether.
I can’t fathom that this idea originated from her. The stench of it too much like the Dems MO. She was told to put it out there.
Any Freepers from NC care to weigh in? Those were not “kidding” suggestions. Is your Gov so off the reservation? or has she proven to be an obedient goosestepper in the past?
