September 28, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Joseph Maraachli, who at only barely one year old drew a groundswell of support when an Ontario hospital refused a simple procedure that would allow him to die at home, has passed away.
Baby Joseph, who suffered from a severe but undiagnosed neurological disorder, lived for more than five months after he was flown to Cardinal Glennon Childrens Medical Center in Missouri for a tracheostomy and brought home.
Alex Schadenburg of the Canada-based Euthanasia Prevention Coalition said Wednesday morning that Baby Joseph died at home surrounded by his family.
“Joseph Maraachli lived a life that changed Canada,” said Schadenburg, whose intervention was pivotal to obtaining the tracheostomy. “My thoughts and prayers are with the Maraachli family.”
Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life wrote on Facebook this morning that his organization is “grateful to all who helped to give him and his family more time and joy together.”

RIP, little guy. You blessed all of us with your presence among us. Enjoy those loving arms of Jesus and His Father.
Sad, yet joyful.
Joseph is being cradled in Jesus’ arms.
Prayers for the family.
Yes - he left this world surrounded by loving family instead of being killed in a hospital surrounded by machinery and impersonal professionals/murderers.
May God bless him and his family.
God bless his soul.
God bless Baby Joseph.
RIP.
Is it because a natural death makes them feel out of control?
Joseph was surrounded by angels in life .
I’m sure throngs attended him and his family on his journey home.
Liberals have devolved to the human default religion.. Human Sacrifice.
It’s the very best of sacrifices when total innocents die.
I heard thin on Tv..I am so happy he could die in his own home, with his family

And now he’s in a blessed home of peace and happiness with his God forever.
Baby Joseph lived 7 months longer, and died peacefully in his parents’ arms.
He also was able to live in comfort upon receiving the tracheotomy (that the Canadian hospital refused to perform).
The St. Louis Review, a Catholic newspaper, ran an article about this.
“From my first conversation with Baby Joseph’s parents, they expressed to me their trust in God. They had no demands of Him regarding how long their son would live. They just wanted to fulfill their calling to love their child unconditionally and to protect him from those who considered his life worthless.” Father Pavone said.
What a fine example of faithfull Christians is the Maraachli family.
Rest in peace, in the loving arms of our Father baby Joseph.
That could be part of it. I've seen someone say that they would rather have the certainty of abortion than the uncertainty of adoption, because with abortion, you know what became of your baby.
His short life made an impact on more people than healthy babies in that same time span.
Bless his little soul.
