Yes Asians are 2nd largest immigrant growth group. We are swamped with illegal alien Chinese and illegal alien Muslims from Pakistan, Bangladesh and India. Filipinos used to all come here legally but now they also come illegally. Lots of Korean immigrants. So the Asian population is so huge it is natural they will be the second largest group of immigrants legal and illegal.

What is the thing with cats lately? I saw more feral/stray cats around everywhere we went on vacation this summer (a 4 day drive across the country). And I mean seriously LOTS of them. They are everywhere. It’s like an alien (as it from another planet) invasion... Sorry, your mention of cats made me think of it.

Most illegal aliens certainly do turn in Census forms; remember, citizenship status is not one of the questions asked, and the information gathered about individuals is not released for 70 years. Check out the Hispanic population in South Texas and West Texas—no way that it would be anywhere near as high if illegal aliens weren’t turning in their forms.

I'm in Texas and I just had lunch in a solid Mexican joint. Myself and my buddy were the only 2 whites in the place. The joint was bustling with Mexicans on their lunch break. Afterwards, I stepped outside and was swarmed by Mexicans coming and going. For a brief moment I felt a flash of fear up my neck. Because I was raised in a violent neighborhood and know how to smell trouble. But then a gentleness came about the area. Mexicans were propped against the wall, talking next to their cars. I realized something about this entire group of Mexicans around me. They all had jobs. They were all working. They were all on their lunch break.

Contrast that with another segment of American culture who prefers to lounge around on the government dime and not work. I'd take any number of Mexicans (legal or not) over that crowd of inbred slobs.

However, I do think their numbers are increasing, via procreation and immigration (both kinds), beyond other groups, and the political power of the left is growing long term.

I think we need to lower family-based immigration quotas, but none of the current GOP leaders look beyond the next election. Some are worse than others.

The family immigration candidate for brother/sister of a citizen has a longer wait time For Philippines (23 yrs) than Mexico (15 yrs). Of course, 23 years is a long time, but if they come in illegally and are caught, that likely would make it even more difficult.

I think we need to lower family-based immigration quotas, but none of the current GOP leaders look beyond the next election. Some are worse than others.

1. My ideal program is zero family reunification immigration for the next 30 years
2. only skills based immigration same as Canada and Australia
3.  zero refugee immigration for the next 10-20 years. 
4. Most of today's refuges are ignorant Muslims like Somalians
5. zero asylum refugees too for 20 years
6. keep computerized records of all visa entries and exits
7. nations that send us visa overstayers (immigrants) .....  mostly cut them off from visiting here plus require large deposits refundable upon exit
8. build an Israeli style fence on the Mexico border
9. no more anchor babies via the 14th Amendment
10. all we need is a good Supreme Court ruling for this to become law

Padre, low-end Latinos tend to be Catholic more like the Haitians are than, O say, the Poles or Irish are. In addition, a huge percentage are Main Line Protestant and Evangelical Protestants, thanks to the incredible pace of missionary expansion in Latin America and domestically.

On the demographic front, we are living in what is going to inevitably become the newest Latin American country in this hemisphere. By the end of this century, "Latinos," "Hispanics," will be at least between 35 and 40% of the overall population, making them the dominant ethnic group. Nothing racist about arithmetic. And that holds true if all Latino immigration legal and illegal were to end tonight at midnight.

"White" people, or those who prefer to identify themselves as such, will become a minority on the scale of Brazil, that is not just under 50% as we are now, but more like under 15% percent. Padre, bienvenido al nuevo mundo.
