I’m sorry, that’s too much - saying Perry is playing the “Reagan” part. And I’m not talking about his positions on various minor issues. I’m not committed to any candidate yet (I don’t want Romney either). But Reagan was far and away the most articulate candidate in that election, his presence and oratory blew everyone in the race...well, out of the race. He really was The Great Communicator.
The best you can say about Perry is that he has the same speaking and presence problems that plagued George W. Bush throughout his career.
Perry is not nimble or swift in debate or oratory - he doesn’t think well on the fly - so how can he possibly be compared to Reagan. It’s not his positions that bother me, it’s his demonstrated inability to run an effective campaign and be an effective presence or an effective speaker and thinker under intense pressure.
Right now he’s looking at the 2011 Fred Thompson Shooting-Star Award.
The point I was trying to make is it is laughable that Romney is being allowed to succeed in attacking Perry from the right.
Romney should be laughed off the stage anytime he attacks anyone on that stage from the right.
La Raza Rick is the Huckster in the race. Huckster insulted Christians who opposed his stance on flooding the country with illegal slave labor.

I agree that this is a HUGE weakness on Perry’s part. Cain is a great communicator, imo.
here is what SHOULD be happening
Every time Romney attacks Perry on something like immergration or gardacil.. and then the moderators turn to Santorum and or Bachmann and ask them what they think..
They should be saying something like ... Well, while I may not agree with Governor Perry on this particular issue, I think it’s laughable that Mit Romney is attacking Governor Perry when his record on this issue is 10 times worse.
