In the latest Reason-Rupe survey, respondents who self-identify as Republicans were asked if they were voting today in the 2012 Republican primary for president, which of the following candidates would they favor? Ron Paul and Mitt Romney tied for first place among Republican respondents aged 18-29 with 19 percent each. Older Americans are most likely to favor Mitt Romney or Rick Perry. Young Americans are also more likely than older Americans to say they do not know for whom they will vote, at 22 percent.

Ron Paul's ability to gain favor among young Republicans may foreshadow a re-shaped Republican coalition in years to come.

We need to raise the voting age to 30. Or at least ensure having a real job and being self-supporting is a requirement for the vote.

Being tied with Ron Paul in anything is rarely a good sign.

"Ron Paul's ability to gain favor among young Republicans may foreshadow a re-shaped Republican coalition in years to come."

Not very likely, "in years to come" most of those young voters will mature in their thinking and their cognitive ability and grow out of their naive libertarian delusions, exchanging them for a more rational political philosophy--particularly after their heads clear up from all that pot they've been smoking.

Well, that takes care of the Christians and the Mormons. What about the Jews and the Muslims? Well, we know who the Muslims will vote for, don’t we? How about the agnostics?, I suppose O. has them, too. It would be nice to see it broken down since Obama is so high on divisiveness.

Maybe they don’t want to be the ground boots in Iran and the countless wars to follow while the dollar goes belly-up.
