A Pentagon legal official has approved charges that carry a possible death penalty for a Guantanamo prisoner accused of planning the attack on the Navy destroyer Cole, the U.S. Defense Department said Wednesday.
Abd al-Nashiri would face charges that include murder in violation of the law of war for allegedly planning the attack that killed 17 sailors and wounded 40 while the ship was stopping in Yemen on Oct. 12, 2000. The United States must now bring him before a judge within 30 days for his arraignment before a military judge at the U.S. base in Cuba.
This would be the first death-penalty war crimes trial for a prisoner at Guantanamo under President Obama, who had pledged to close the detention center.

Wow!It only took them 12 years. Talk about a speedy trial. Then say another 15 years before he’s executed. I think he’s got a better chance of NOT dying from natural causes if they set him free in South Florida with a driver’s license.
I seriously doubt that there are any Guantanamo prisoners who don’t deserve the death penalty. At rate we’re going they’ll all die of natural causes before they are even indicted.
THE LONG SHIPS
I saw tht movie at the theater back around 1964 or 1965.
As did I. Think all the Tangos should ride the Mare of Steel.
Even if he is convicted, our Muslim in Chief will probably pardon him.

Or be thrown into a pit of hungry dogs. (THE VIKINGS.)
Na, I like the Mare better!
On the other hand, if Bamster had any brains he’d have the perp executed just befor the election, just to go all “sister Souljaw” for the indy vote.
I have never seen the movie but my junk draws up just looking at the picture. I think I’ll pass on that one.
