I think a candidate for president should refrain from all frivolous, comedic-centered stages/venues. The only one he/she should partake in is after assuming the office: the roast-the-president gridiron dinner, I think it is called.

I hope Cain gets in a good plug for his new book due for release October 4th. This is Herman Cain has moved from # 970 to # 158 in Amazon books in 48 hours.

I suppose you are right. And I know he can hold his own in this arena. One has the sure feeling that he will never put himself in the position of clown, yet not come across stiff, either.

After Ron Paul’s ultra-political statement regarding alwaki’s death, I have decided to renounce my support for his candidacy and throw all my support behind Herman Cain.
Cain is the only candidate who is saying the things that make sense to me.
Besides that, the two so-called “front-runners” are both liberals, and should step aside for the benefit of our country.

Great! It’s really a bargain. The pre-orders are already being sold on eBay for $60, and I’ve seen it elsewhere for over $100. :-)

I saw most of it - don’t watch Leno, but left the TV on and kept going in to see if he was on yet. I thought he did very well - and Leno didn’t seem to be in his usual Attack-mode. He asked Cain what he thought, briefly, of each of the other Rep. candidates. Cain’s short answers were a hoot.
Perry? ... “Good Governor”
Romney? ... “Good hair.” (yes, he said that! :-))
Bachmann? ... “Very nice lady.”
Paul? ... “Grumpy old man.”
Santorum? ... “Stress!”
A couple I forgot, and then
Gingrich? “Brilliant.”
He explained his 9-9-9 plan better than I’ve ever heard it, simply and succinctly. He’s very well spoken, isn’t he?
Leno asked him if he thinks Palin will run, and he said he didn’t think so. Don’t know why he thinks he knows. He doesn’t.

Thanks so much for the ping, FRiend!
Grrr! I missed seeing Herman on Leno's show tonight (had the computer unplugged for hours due to a pretty bad thunder storm here). How did he do? Do you know if there's a video of Herman's appearance anywhere, ie YouTube?

To: CatDancer
At the very first, Jay showed the book, introduced him, and said to tell people about himself.
I started my stopwatch.
27 seconds to cover, native of Atlanta, GA, bachelor degree, masters degree, his business and CEO positions, head of the National Restaurant Association, so over 40 years of e-x-e-c-u-t-i-v-e experience.
Got it all out in less than half a minute, even emphasizing the executive part.
They mentioned that he won the straw poll, 37% for him, 15% for Perry, and 14% for Romney.
Lots of cheers from the audience.
He was very complimentary towards Sarah, and said she has done wonderful things for the conservative movement.
When Jay asked him if he thought she was running, he said he didn’t have any inside information, and was just guessing that she wouldn’t.
Leno said she had called him “Herb,” Herman said, “She called me Herm,” and that he would overlook it, because she didn’t know.
He said that the flavor of the week part was true for some people, but that he had substance, and that would make the difference for him.
Said Christie shouldn’t pay attention to the media, and should only get in if he wanted it from the bottom of his heart.
Then he started to explain the 9 9 9 plan, and my recording quit.
I had tried to DVR it, but didn’t get it right.

TP: Mr. Cain, you recently came under fire for your comments about the kind of people you would appoint to your cabinet. Would you be opposed to appointing an openly gay but qualified person to be in your cabinet?
CAIN: Nope, not at all. I wouldnt have a problem with that at all. I just want people who are qualified, I want them to believe in the Constitution of the United States of America. So yep, I dont have a problem with appointing an openly gay person. Because theyre not going to try to put sharia law in our laws.

=====================
HERMAN: What happens now?
Scott Toomey: Well, now, uh, Ken Mehlman, R. Clarke Cooper, Meghan McCain,
Mary Cheney and I wait until nightfall, and then leap out of the log cabin, taking The Party(tm) by surprise -- not only by surprise, but totally unarmed!
HERMAN: Who leaps out?
Scott Toomey: Uh, Ken Mehlman, R. Clarke Cooper, Meghan McCain,
Mary Cheney and I. Uh, leap out of the log cabin, uh and uh....
HERMAN: Oh....
Scott Toomey: Oh.... Um, l-look, if we built this large wooden Rhinocerous -- [twong]
ALL: Run away! Run away! Run away! Run away!

I would love to know! At around ten PM last night I heard a transformer blow, so the entire area was without electri5ty for who knows how long? So I went peacefully to sleep, hoping that someone here could fill me in. Talk about Satan’s timing!
To: lonevoice
When I try to order, the page turns to one withut Cains book on it!
To: sushiman
Thank you so much for the link, but at ten PM last night I heard a transformer blow, and my area was without electicity for any number of hours. I fell asleep hoping someone here could give a synopsis of the show with Cain.
To: Paperdoll
I just tried it to check for you. What happens is that, when you click the link to “pre-order now”, it takes you to a page of more books, with the heading “Here are other products we thought you may be interested in”. Click on the button that says “no thanks”, which is located immediately below that heading. That will take you right to your shopping cart, with the Herman Cain book waiting for you there.
