Opponents to the Federal Communications Commission's controversial net neutrality rules are stepping up their efforts to nix the regs.
The rules, which were published in the Federal Register late last week, are slated to go into effect on Nov. 20. The news of publication prompted one leading critic, Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas), to reiterate that she intends to lead a legislative effort to override the rules.
Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) is pushing a similar measure in the House. "Net neutrality is a net loser," she said in a statement last week. "The FCC is in essence building an Internet Iron Curtain that will restrict more of our freedom."
Net neutrality is often cloaked in the garb of freedom, freedom from eeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil corporate ISPs. But there's just one problem with that.
Marxists are clueless when it comes to freedom. But they are experts at iron curtains.
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Whenever I see government stepping in to help, I find myself waiting to find out how our taxes will increase and our freedoms will be reduced.
The FCC wants POWER. That’s all this is about.
“Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas), to reiterate that she intends to lead a legislative effort to override the rules.”
Now, what could possibly be wrong with this statement?
Okay...
A. Why must congress mount a legislative effort to override rules written by unelected bureaucrats?
B. Since when do rules written by unelected bureaucrats have the force of law?
C. Says who?
D. Congress can fix this fascist fiasco.
E. If they don’t, other solutions will be found...
