Come on, Herman, you’re better then that.

The evidence would suggest otherwise. Sounds like Mr. Cain went off half-cocked like Mrs. Bachmann did on her "mental retardation"statement.

Is it too much to ask that a presidential contender verifies the authenticity of a story before running off at the mouth?

Yep, I agree. My 2nd & 3rd choices have turned out to be underwhelming presidential candidates and disappointing for self described conservatives.

The family didn't start leasing the land until the early 1980s.

The Perrys never owned the property.

If that's the case I withdraw my criticism of Perry about this. The reports I first saw had not indicated this, but I've seen subsequent news stories which make me think the whole thing doesn't amount to much.

I think they are trying to set Cain up too (and he is making it easy for them).

We are just going to have to learn to cut our guys slack.

Just say no to Mittens

I am no Mitt fan but the guy has run a professional campaign and not stepped in it big time. First Bachmann talked herself out of contention with her idiotic vaccine causes mental retardation stink. Then Perry self-immolated in the debates with multiple gaffs especially his soft on illegal immigration stance. Cain has stuck his foor in it several times but this buying the Wapo's story at face value shows he is not ready for prime time.

So who does that leave? The field is getting small. Who's next, Santorum? He could even get re-elected in Pennsylvania as the sitting Senator.

So, as for me, I am now cutting Mitt some slack. Obama must go and I do not want someone like Sharon Angle screwing up and handing the election to Obama.

So?

It's not about style but substance. Cain wants to do away with the EPA. Perry has a record of tort reform and defending 2A and 10A, and cutting off $$ to Planned Parenthood.

Cain and Perry both want to drill, baby, drill.

IOW, they both have consistent records of conservatism.

What's Mitt's accomplishment? Pioneering Obamacare. He's the only one I won't cut slack.

way to go fluffdaddy, you nailed it!

And, I watched Cain live and before he said anything I said to myself “uh oh, is he going to be an Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson or is he going to rise above the question?”

“perspective” is everything though and there is no question Cain did not help himself on this one..........he could have pulled a fluffdaddy and knocked the question out of the park!

It's not about style but substance.

You have to be elected before you can govern.

Sharon Angle, Ken Buck, Christine O'Donnell had infinitely better "substance" than their opponents but they ran crappy campaigns with no "style" so they are home now and their Rat opponents are in the Senate where their votes are screwing us.

He's the only one I won't cut slack.

Not me. I will vote in the primary for the most conservative candidate that I think will win. And if my guy loses in the fight for the republican nomination I will vote for whoever does win.
