It is a shocking irony that America's best hope is the Left's worst irony! Herman Cain is both!

Note tagline!

Didn't you know? Much of FR is SarahLand. The field must be kept clear for her much-anticipated, yet much-pondered campaign announcement.

It's my impression a significant percentage of Palin supporters have Cain as their #2, and would switch to Cain should Palin fail to enter the race by her stated deadline.

Sorry, I’m not the one who is thin-skinned. I’m sorry, was that too insensitive?

Vet all you want. I welcome it. I have been posting Cain articles on here for over a year. I have I have posted links to his writings going back to 2005, but have yet to have any of his naysayers go and actually read about the man and how he stands for conservatism. They would rather than make knee jerk reaction to the latest headline.

Because, like it or no, there is an entire separate sub-culture of black media. Black-centered magazines, black-centered websites, black-centered radio and television shows that are wholly unrelated to the main stream media.

And if Herman Cain wants a snowball's chance in hell of reaching those voters, of giving them a glimpse of something different, he has to appear on them or in them.

It's a smart move, actually. At least they are giving him a chance. In the past, they froze out Keyes completely.

It is true.

Once Hunter dropped out and Thompson was flailing, and it looked as if it was down to Huck, McCain, or Romney, FR was overwhelmingly for Romney.

This thread has some of the numbers from that time:

FReeper icwhatudo has more specifics from a FR poll from that time.

I’m a Republican woman and I would vote for Cain or Palin or whichever candidate wins the nomination. My personal preference after seeing the destruction obama has caused is someone with executive experience, someone who served his country to lead our military and hopefully reverse what obama has done, someone who has a bone to pick with the EPA and is prepared to take them on and get the economy moving again, someone who without question will protect our Second Amendment rights and loves God and country and protects the sanctity of life. This is what I believe in as a conservative woman. I can look beyond the immigration thing feeling that he will come around knowing how conservatives feel about the issue. I think he will actually go out of his way to put boots on the ground and protect the border.

I agree with you 100%.

Like Mr. Cain, I do poorly with “Gotcha” questions because I am basically an honest and straightforward person; and often mistakenly assume the same with others in their relationships with me.

I have been hurt by this many times, all the way back to Grammar School.

I suppose it is better than becoming as duplicitous, underhanded, and spiteful as our adversaries.

So...I still get caught by it once in a while. Knowing that Herman has a spirit similar to mine only makes me love him more.

PS: I hate the “N Word” too, and I am not even Black.

Yessir!

Cannot wait until some MSM idiot asks H.Cain; “Do you believe hotels should be required to use flat sheets?”

As soon as he laughs off the question - his critics will scream: “Herman Cain thinks using sheets is funny”.

“Sarah Palin was not on the ballot.”

Neither was Chris Christie, Rudy Guliani or myself. Guess what we all have in common. Go on, guess.

Seems like he’s doing well in a lot of straw polls that I’ve never heard of before. I hope that starts translating into good showings in gallup and rasmussen soon.

Rethuglican women HAVE to be Racisssts...how can that be???

They're pretending to vote for the black guy in the straw polls to 'prove' they aren't racist. That just shows how racist they are. /DU

The Left will stop at nothing! Cain's truth threatens the Leftist's delusions, and a threat to delusion is ALWAYS dangerous!

The Left is in a bit of a quandary as to how to attack Cain and in "media" boardrooms across the country, I'll bet the subject matter of conversation centers around how to stop him. So, I predict the following:

If Cain continues to move upward and starts polling favorably vs. Obama, someone in the "media" or its parent organization, the DNC, will start to construct a narrative about Cain's history of cancer and fitness for high office. Their angle will be, "yes, he's in remission now... but what if it recurs... look how unstable our national situation is... is it wise to elect someone we know could die in office? After all, Paul Tsongas died of cancer just a few years after running for President in 1997."

Watch for it. It's coming.

It is mostly bitter supporters of one candidate and one non-candidate realizing that Cain is sucking up a lot of their oxygen.

Perry lost a lot of his support to Cain and with Cain doing well in the polls, it makes it less likey that Palin gets in.

Supporters of those two candidate are....how do I put this nicely?)....losing it.

I have a friend who heads up GOP in a small town in GA - very tea party minded person.

Anyway she just told me that she was at the NC State vs. GA Tech game - wearing Cain buttons and shirt, and had several democrats ask her for bumper stickers for Cain and they said they would be supporting him!

I have several independent friends who are on the Cain train, and a democrat acquaintance (who I’m so ticked at I can barely speak to) said he is backing Cain.

Every family member I have is for Cain, including one that switched from Ron Paul, and probably 75% of my conservative friends.

I know it’s all anecdotal - but I’m starting to get the feeling Cain would beat Obama in a landslide.

That would have to be broken up into 6 short phrases and heavily laced with profanity to be a realistic DU quote. ;-)
