Remember when the Tea Party threatened America with its latent violence, proven when a couple of union thugs beat up a rally attendee? Good times, good times. Via RCP, we now hear the counterpoint from the Hollywood Left, as Roseanne Barr appeared on Russia Today to lay out her vision of American politics. It’s not enough to occupy Wall Street — Barr wants to bring back the guillotine and start using it to redistribute the wealth:
“Part of my platform is, of course, the guilty must be punished and that we no longer let our children see their guilty leaders getting away with murder. Because it teaches children, you know, that they don’t have to have any morals as long as they have guns and are bullies and I don’t think that’s a good message,” Barr told Russia Today (RT).
“I do say that I am in favor of the return of the guillotine and that is for the worst of the worst of the guilty.
“I first would allow the guilty bankers to pay, you know, the ability to pay back anything over $100 million [of] personal wealth because I believe in a maximum wage of $100 million. And if they are unable to live on that amount of that amount then they should, you know, go to the reeducation camps and if that doesn’t help, then being beheaded,” Barr said with a straight face.
Imagine if anyone had said anything remotely like this at a Tea Party rally about socialism and socialists, even in jest. And this isn’t just some unknown provocateur — Barr is one of the most successful entertainers and producers in Hollywood, or at least she was at one point in time.
If this was humor, the only part that was funny was the economics. I’m pretty sure ABC didn’t pay her in hippie beads when she ruled the Nielsen charts in the 1980s and 1990s. Her sister filed a $70 million lawsuit for her share of the proceeds from the TV series Roseanne (thrown out for statute-of-limitations issues), which strongly suggests that Barr exceeded her own “maximum wage” limitation. Besides, it’s always amusing to hear economic policy from someone who doesn’t know the difference between “wages” and “wealth,” even more so than when some political leaders can’t tell the difference between “price” and “cost.”
Just remember that when conservatives organize into grassroots movements, it’s almost always about protecting their own property and individual liberty. When leftists decide to start grassroots movements, like OccupyWallStreet or Barr’s example of leftist populism, it almost always involves seizure of property, threats of violence, and eventually re-education camps and the guillotine.
and I quote some Hollywood cutie at obama’s fundraiser:
‘He has the right ideas about how to fix the econoy if they would just untie his hands.’
We’re in so much trouble.
Confess or I’ll show you the video of Barr without makeup!
It’s just rhetoric.
A lot of bankers are leftists.
Apart from the ridiculous beheading rhetoric. Why haven’t some of the culprits in the banking scheme been prosecuted?
I am pro-business, but it seems like if you steal $10,000 you would get 20 years in jail. You steal 10 Billion, you get a bail-out. You can’t steal/syphon/whatever that much taxpayer money without any recourse. Wait, I guess you can..
If Obama, Roseanne, Van Jones and their ilk have their way, mobs will be storming more than just Wall Street, taking whatever they want. And the mobs on Wall Street say they’re fighting greed? They are the very definition of greed. They’re saying, “Give us what you have.” And they plan on taking it if they can.
I think it’s more than just that. It’s the do-nothings wanting to take from the productive part of society. It’s so much easier than having to work to create the lives they want for themselves—just take it from those who worked hard over the years.
Urp. It’s hard to un-see what has been seen....yetch.
RE: I am pro-business, but it seems like if you steal $10,000 you would get 20 years in jail. You steal 10 Billion, you get a bail-out.
And if you waste a trillion and cause the economy to melt down further taking the livelihood of millions in the process, what does that make you? (BTW, the 20 year sentence for a $10,000 theft is an exagerration. I know some people who stole more than that and were out within a year and a half for good behavior ).
This is typical of the far left's mentality.
Am I the only one that was reminded of the Biblical prophecies that predict people will be beheaded for defying the government?
And now, here we are at the point where someone can seriously make the suggestion that people be beheaded unless they comply with government demands.
A government suggestion we suspend elections. A celebrity suggeston we behead people for no cooperating with the government. What’s next?
“Barr wants to bring back the guillotine and start using it to redistribute the wealth”
WTF? Does she not realize that she is, by far, among the wealthy from whom wealth will be “redistributed”? Her net worth is ~$80M ... enough to support 1,600 families for a year. Between the meme & stats, I’m sure someone would be glad to adapt the equipment to fit.
Just not getting the whole two party thing.
“...Barr wants to bring back the guillotine and start using it to redistribute the wealth:...”
The Leftist, secular, humanist age did start with the French Revolution and the guillotine in 1789. As a result hundreds of millions have been murdered in the name of their cause.
By Barr calling for bringing back the guillotine indicates to me how fast the age of Leftism is concluding and how desperate and scared they are to cling to what little power they have left.
I agree, and this is the only reason they're supporting the "Muslim Spring." They think later, after the Jews are destroyed, they can simply take over. (They aren't the smartest birds in the barnyard.)
Satan's goal is to destroy the Jews and Israel, because they're Gods chosen people. Theologically speaking, the left claims to be atheist, but I think they're much farther left than that.
Ça ira ça ira ça ira, les aristocrats à la lanterne, ça ira, ça ira, ça, les aristocrats on les pendra!
