Like so many parents, Jessie and Cooper Odell spend their days helping their 8-year-old with homework, taking him to the park, playing football or attending church on Sundays.
But their journey to becoming a typical family was anything but routine.
Lake Worth "Until recently I always felt like I had to look over my back,'' said Jessie Odell, 39, a Palm Beach event planner who has cared for the boy since July and is finally able to adopt him. "God has finally given us what we've been fighting for.''
For 33 years, Florida barred gays and lesbians from adopting. That changed last October, when Florida's Third District Court of Appeal in Miami ruled the law unenforceable and the state declined to challenge it. Since then, family law attorneys estimate more than 100 men and women in South Florida's gay and lesbian community have pending adoption cases.

Those poor kids
Government-sanctioned child abuse.
Sick, sick, sick, recruitment.
Sick, sick, sick, recruitment.
Are women who put their children up for adoption allowed to make any prohibitions: i.e. religion, financial, life-style, prior criminal record, pro-abortion advocacy?
I hope this new direction does not encourage young women to abort rather than have to risk insensitive adoption agency liberalism.
Someone should do a 20 year study to find out what percentage of these kids become homosexuals as compared to a control group........
It predates that change because Charlie Crist did not fight it.
You also had teh Florida Bar, the body that regulates lawyers, sanction their family law section to ENDORSE homosexuals adopting children. So you had essentially the body that the judges regulate give their seal of approval.
The 3rd DCA is down south in Miami.
Pro-Homosexual Researchers Conceal Findings:
Children Raised by Openly Homosexual Parents More Likely to Engage in Homosexuality
Research by social scientists, although not definitive, suggests that children reared by openly homosexual parents are far more likely to engage in homosexual behavior than children raised by others. Studies thus far find between 8% and 21% of homosexually parented children ultimately identify as non-heterosexual. For comparison purposes, approximately 2% of the general population are non-heterosexual. Therefore, if these percentages continue to hold true, children of homosexuals have a 4 to 10 times greater likelihood of developing a non-heterosexual preference than other children.
Some researchers who uncovered sexual preference differences between homosexually and heterosexually parented children, nonetheless declared in their research summaries that no differences were found. Many believe they concealed their findings so as not to harm their own pro-homosexual, sociopolitical agendas.

New Zeland did such a study.
The children are screwed up.
And so they will -— 20-30 years from now.
In the 60’s/70’s we were assured that divorce was preferably to an unfulfilling marriage and that children would be much better off if divorce laws were loosened. So they were.
It took until the 90’s for enough data to be accumulated to support the conclusion that the changes (combined, to be sure, with other social policies that encourage divorce and single female parent families) have in fact turned out to be a disaster.
God still considers homosexuality an abomination.
***”God has finally given us what we’ve been fighting for.’’***
No, God has ALLOWED it.
What God will finally GIVE you will come shortly after you take your last breath.
Like I’ve said all along, if this was genetic, it would already be gone....since they can’t breed. It’s all about solicitation and vile predators.
Um, maybe because they aren't a typical family and never will be.
“...Someone should do a 20 year study to find out what percentage of these kids become homosexuals as compared to a control group........”
Interesting point. And if there is a statistically significant increase...this points to nurture over nature....which sort of negates the oft repeated “....was born that way...”
Don’t get me wrong - I don’t know if homosexuality has anything to do with genes...but we can all rest assured that 1) the above study will NEVER be done, and if it would be done, 2) the results will NEVER be released should they point towards “nurture”.
Women who put their babies up through Catholic Charities had interview powers and final say up to and including taking the baby back within a window of opportunity. This happened to my cousin
I think that statistic has already been established,
and HUSHED UP.
The stats show a huge propensity for homosexuality in the kids raised in same sex households.
If homosexuals want to enter into some sort of legal financial contract between themselves, I don’t care.
If they want to buy a house, make living wills stating each other as guardians, name each other on insurace policies, etc. I don’t care.
What they do in their privacy,, I don’t care.
If they want to adopt a baby, I DO care.
